goodman.od.ua Posted May 22, 2020 Posted May 22, 2020 (edited) As title states LSO gives me "You're a little slow" calls even then i'm not exceeding 15 units AOA on F-14. When reaching ~16 units AOA I ussually get waved off instantly. I think it is related to lower on speed AOA in Hornet (~8.1 degrees) than in Tomcat (15 units/10.8 degrees). I've tried to make a proper track, but since last update I get massive desync in Tomcat even in ~2 min long tracks, so here's the video. https://youtu.be/WuoUjaFgd08 Edited May 22, 2020 by goodman.od.ua
sLYFa Posted May 24, 2020 Posted May 24, 2020 Are you activating DLC? Because if not, your on-speed will be a lot lower than it should be, hence triggering the slow calls. i5-8600k @4.9Ghz, 2080ti , 32GB@2666Mhz, 512GB SSD
TonyG Posted May 25, 2020 Posted May 25, 2020 If he’s on speed AoA, with or without DLC it shouldn’t be triggering a slow call. The actual speed isn’t what the LSO is commenting on, it’s the AoA in the groove. If the AoA is correct, it doesn’t matter what speed it’s at, just that it’s on-speed for the given configuration. 9800X3D, MSI 5080 , G.SKILL 64GB DDR5-6000, Win 11, MSI X870, 2/4TB nVME, Quest 3, OpenHornet Pit
sLYFa Posted May 25, 2020 Posted May 25, 2020 Thats true but we don't know if ED doesn't use the airspeed somehow for their LSO. I'm not getting waveoffs even if I'm full slow for a few seconds, so there must be something to the OPs issue. i5-8600k @4.9Ghz, 2080ti , 32GB@2666Mhz, 512GB SSD
Golo Posted May 25, 2020 Posted May 25, 2020 Thats true but we don't know if ED doesn't use the airspeed somehow for their LSO. I'm not getting waveoffs even if I'm full slow for a few seconds, so there must be something to the OPs issue. Thats what I figured because light Tomcat is some 10kts slower than Hornet is on speed. Im always getting BS slow calls from LSO, not based on my AOA (when in fact im little fast)
BMGZ06 Posted May 26, 2020 Posted May 26, 2020 This has happened in the F18 3 times so far. I have the yellow donut and I can get this slow call still. Nealius Posted May 26, 2020 Posted May 26, 2020 Are you activating DLC? Because if not, your on-speed will be a lot lower than it should be, hence triggering the slow calls. On-speed will be the same regardless of DLC in/out. The only difference will be the power required to maintain on-speed. 1
mattag08 Posted May 26, 2020 Posted May 26, 2020 The Tomcat and 18 use different AOAs in the groove. I believe the 18 is about 2° less AOA than the 14 (which is a hair over 10°), so if ED just tied the calls to a fixed AOA (very likely) then it will think the Tomcat is slow. 1 Flying the DCS: F-14B from Heatblur Simulations with Carrier Strike Group 2 and the VF-154 Black Knights! RogerRamjet Posted June 30, 2023 Posted June 30, 2023 I agree with mattag08, I get the "you're a little slow" call almost every landing in the 14 even though I'm exactly on speed. I get SLOAR a lot even though on speed is indicated and I catch a 3 wire... 2
Alpiinoo Posted September 2, 2023 Posted September 2, 2023 (edited) LSO only knows hornet limits IIRC. Edited September 2, 2023 by Alpiinoo 2
