In the news I have read that there will be 19 US Army and 16 Croatia skins. Are they all totally different or is it just because you haven't added a dynamic BORT number functionality?

So many skins just for the immatriculation or serial number is (in my opinion) a waste of space. My SSD has enough space to hold it but the update process will take longer and it is just unnecessary. Like the many Spanish skins of the F/A-18C module. The only difference of most of those skins is the immatriculation number.

It's also different troops, insignias, paintjobs and amount of dust / weathering.

What you need to understand is that by working very closely with the real Kiowa Warrior community, this module has also become a tribute to the men and women who flew this bird. Some liveries are on their request, because of emotional and nostalgic reasons.

Polychop, i think the progress looks good and i look forward to seeing a quality representation of the Kiowa, thank you for your work, and your efforts on all the liveries to represent the variety of this aircraft.

@Polychop Simulations:

Maybe I should create a factory livery, that has no markings and even missing color on certain panels and release only that one ;), maybe then people are satisfied ????

I love this topic the most of all the Kiowa topic created during the past wekks or months ;)

Just as a sidenote, it went up to 27 US Army Liveries, cause a few were added by requestof some people in the KIOWA WARRIOR community of former pilots and crewchiefs.

Oh dear, not... MORE SKINS?! What shall my SSD and internet connection do? *faint*

I mean, really, if you have such a potato THIS is a concern, you should probably do something to fix it, which would be productive, as opposed to complaining about how many skins they are using. Ffs, people will bitch about anything.

And? His bitching doesn't concern you in the slightest, anyway have you read his message? He asked if the skins were redundant with only minor differences, fair concern if you ask me.

First of all, we are talking about a post I made four years ago 🙂 And just to clarify: I love to have many liveries for a module. Don't get me wrong. But when I made the post 4 years ago it was the time the F-14 module came out with a HUGE amount of disk space just for liveries. I mean nearly 14 GB just for liveries of one module. I earn almost every module but I have to uninstall a few terrains to get only the module installed I'd like to have.

And at this time I saw also those multiple Spanish Air Force liveries for the F/A-18 module which just were different for the immatriculation number. I love to have many liveries but for such amount an optional livery pack would have been way better.

But, and I hope you all are reading this far in my post, I applause Polychop for adding 60 liveries but only using 3 GB. THAT's what I as a customer and Software Engineer myself expect from a good company. To also keep in mind those customers, that have to uninstall modules because of a HUGE amount of space in CoreMods folder, where everything is stored also for modules customers don't have.

I think more fictional is better, too bad Italy was not added but there is most of the rest of Europe. 🙂

I love these liveries, we need to find a way to use custom liveries like i-racing does.....

Its really nice to see Polychop giving some custom skins back to the real pilots as a tribute, but these are only going to carry that heartfelt meaning to a very small number of people - those closely involved. This in my opinion is better in the realm of the talented skinning community to produce an individual skin over one of the basic unmarked skins. Great they organised the files & textures to cram so many in to such a small disk space but so many of them are virtually the same to the rookie pilot, just with a different name stuck to the side. I dont need so many lookalikes in my hangar, personally. They will never get used. Other folk will differ in their requirements. The beauty of DCS is that everyone can play it at their own level. Pity theres always a shouty passionate few who can get outraged that someone else takes something different from the game, sorry sim.
