I will do a test on both ships. Wonder if EDs update broke the coding for the weapons.  Thanks for the update.

Yes, all weapons work on the Duncan. I tested them against Air and Sea Targets.

I just tested the weapons on the Oak Hill and San Antonio. They still work fine!

So depending on the angle of the ship when missiles are incoming will determine how the weapons react. When Oak Hill Starboard side is facing the enemy ship.  It's shoots from both RAM Launchers and also both CIWS to defend itself.. I created a video but i think the video is too large to upload.

I will update the Oak Hill because i see some lag with it.. I will also reduce the size of the flags.. So Stay tuned for an update!!

HMS Duncan release news!

It appears the 3ds Max EDM plugin has broken so it only exports to a kilobtye file and not a megabyte file. So in-game it's invisible. I will be working to resolve this issue. Always something! Stay Tuned!!

Thanks! I will be updating the San Antonio and the OAK Hill..

Make sure that those textures are in the texture folder. If not. The same textures are in the HMS Duncan texture folder.

HMS Duncan.lua has been tested and updated!  The Starboard Gun and CIWS didn't fire through the ship when tested. Only the Portside Weapons!

Please replace this HMS Duncan.lua with the existing one.  Thanks Aviator! Always good to have extra eyes.

Concerning the HMS Duncan model, looks great! However I can spot a few things missing, particularly the FDO shack and the horizon indicator light bar above the hangar door.

Also @Admiral189 I noticed in my testing that Duncan won’t use the Her anti ship missiles, and the CWIS has no sound, and you can’t hear the sound of the guns when you move your view to behind the barrel not sure if the gun sound is like that on all ships haven’t tested that part yet

The Anti ship missiles always work for me. Never had a problem with them.

i haven't figured out how ED get the CIWS sound on the models. If someone knows let me know! It would be a great addition. I looked at their coding on their ships and i don't see anything for the sound.

Doing some testing against AShMs. Two tests so far, both against 3 Type 45 protecting a QE Carrier. Test 1 was 16x KH-22. 7 were shot down. Test 2 was 12x KH-31A and 4x KH-21P. 4 KH-31A and no KH-31P got through.

I saw two issues. The first is regarding the Phalanxwhich couldn't score hits even in a cross fire. The second is the use of the SM-2 missile. SM-2 is semi-active guidance and it would appear HMS Duncan can only guide one at a time (at least she only fires one at a time). For HMS Duncan's full potential she needs an Active guidance missile along with a shorter ranged version (maybe?). The ability to essentially track and engage multiple targets at once with accurate missiles is the staple of the Type 45.

I know you are constrained atm by needing to use missiles already in DCS, these are just my observations.

Keep in mind Cdodders. We create the models using EDs code. So i know what you mean. I think ED has forgotten about the Ship defenses. It needs a lot of improvement.

Here's something new i found with the USS Kidd though. When missiles are inbound. The USS Kidd maneuver's to defend itself. I don't see the TYPE-45 doing it. It will literally speed up and or turn to defend itself and even after all that maneuvering. Missiles still get through..  The biggest issue i see.. if there are small gun boats, aircraft and incoming missiles.. I noticed the ship will only concentrate on one and can't defend itself against all.  The game Engine controls how the ships react to incoming missiles! We can adjust the range in which it detects missiles but i don't think that will help anything.

Hopefully in the near future ED will take the time to improve on ships defenses!  Thanks for the feedback Cdodders!

@Admiral189 I’ve seen that behavior from the Moskava, and one of the Chinese ships

Also you could probably use Sea sparrows for the short range missiles i believe Duncan uses sea sparrows

It uses the Aster 30 and Aster 15

I tried the LCU-1627 tonight and found that at a distance, the LCU shows up as an Arleigh burke or other bigger vessel, more closer is changes to the LCU itself.
