sirrah Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 During the preview period, MAESTR0 showed us these awesome screenshots of destroyed map objects. Like in this post and I'm pretty sure I also saw screenshots of destroyed buildings in Raqqa. Maybe I missed it, but is it possible yet to manage this in the mission editor? Would be nice to know how Ugra managed to destroy so many buildings and if there is an easy way how we can do this too? sirrah Posted August 31, 2020 Author Posted August 31, 2020 (edited) Thanks for the quick response BN! I'll go and try it out :) Edit: It works. However, don't try to destruct all of Aleppo with one giant trigger. Loading takes forever and when it eventually loaded and I zoomed out, I went back to ±1fpm (yes.. 1 frame per minute :P) Are these destructed 3D models heavier on performance than when they're intact? Or is something wrong on my end? Must admit I only tested on my work laptop (which normally runs DCS just fine for testing purposes). i7-6700, 32GB ram, NVidia Quadro M2000M Edit2: Neglect my previous edit :P Forgot to set all graphics settings to low. It does run :) (loading time is still quite extreme though. It's pretty obvious I'm not supposed to destroy so many buildings hehe)Aleppo destoyed.miz Edited August 31, 2020 by sirrah System specs: i7-8700K @stock speed - GTX 1080TI @ stock speed - AsRock Extreme4 Z370 - 32GB DDR4 @3GHz- 500GB SSD - 2TB nvme - 650W PSU HP Reverb G1 v2 - Saitek Pro pedals - TM Warthog HOTAS - TM F/A-18 Grip - TM Cougar HOTAS (NN-Dan mod) & (throttle standalone mod) - VIRPIL VPC Rotor TCS Plus with ALPHA-L grip - Pointctrl & aux banks <-- must have for VR users!! - Andre's SimShaker Jetpad - Fully adjustable DIY playseat - VA+VAICOM - Realsimulator FSSB-R3 ~ That nuke might not have been the best of ideas, Sir... the enemy is furious ~ GUMMBAH
DUSTY Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Interesting concept - I'd try multiple, smaller destruction zones with a bit of time between triggers to save your PC! F-15E | AH-64 | F/A-18C | F-14B | A-10C | UH-1H | Mi-8MTV2 | Ka-50 | SA342 | Super Carrier | Nevada | Persian Gulf | Syria | Intel Core i7 11700K - 32GB 3200MHz CL16 DDR4 - MSI GeForce RTX 3060 Gaming X 12GB - Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe SSD 1TB
Andartu Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Right, that´s the way to do it. I often set multiple trigger zones of different sizes with scenery destruction. You can also set the amount of destruction from 0-100%. So multiple trigger zones with different destruction levels. Then spread some smoke and/or fire effects on top of it and you have a "nice" looking scenery.

ctguy1955 Posted December 16, 2020 Posted December 16, 2020 I am glad I found this thread. I wanted to know about what maps had what damage models and I just figured that the PG map has many large structures that a 2000 LB bomb can take them down. Have to learn more about setting a trigger zone and what it changes. Thanks Clear Skies Mike
