It's still not what I'd call good. 2.5.6 really globally broke in cockpit instrument/panel back lighting and I guess the MI-8 is just too old of a module for them to give it much attention.

And to be honest the panel lighting is still a bit dark, maybe not at night but during the day with panels in shadow. Before 2.5.6 this wasn't an issue.

Just to be clear, your concerns are with the large overhead lights?

Hello,

My concern was primarily the consoles backlight, but I've just tested them and found that they are markedly improved, particularly the overhead consoles:

The Flood lights could be a bit more powerful, but it is much much better than what it was on 2.5.6, so please transmit my thanks to the team 🙏

Cheers,

Eduardo

They are still very dim to the point of being useless without APU GEN or main GEN power. This is not how it used to be prior to the lighting change and IMHO not how it should be. Dome lights also used to be a lot more bright actually lighting up the whole cockpit and not just the pilots' heads.

I agree, I will report this aspect.

I recently picked up the Mi-8 but I'm wondering what the status is with the lights right now? In less-than-sunny conditions the instruments are extremely hard to read and the backlights don't seem to change this at all.

At night the instruments are readable but the entire rest of the cockpit is pitch black even with the dome lights on (they really only illuminate about 30cm of the roof

First image daytime in the rain with console lights maxed out, second nighttime with console lights maxed and red dome light on

Is this still "in the works"?
