Did you fly it empty? The fuel gauge doesn’t measure fuel, it’s a timer that’s linked to your throttle and measures more like fuel consumption, so if you drop your tanks early it needs to be manually adjusted.

Many soviet birds are this way but it’s often automatic in DCS

I believe you can’t go from AB to MIL directly, to do that you must exist afterburner entirely then re engage the MIL switch

Can you explain what this switch even does?

One function is "disengage afterburner" but it doesn't seem to do that?

I haven't RTFM yet, so that isn't helping...

EDIT: It seems that afterburner is either ON or OFF, and to switch it ON you press and hold a button while at MIL power (that makes sense).

This switch is apparently the opposite function, but it doesn't appear to work.

Yea that would be best since this is not a big, Chucks guide describes it well, and there’s some great threads on it here. It’s all about being able to fly in formation at high speed so you always have fine control

Oh oh oh I see...

I had noticed inside the instrument it shows instantaneous fuel flow.

That would make more sense!

Yes, I did know some Russian aircraft have a decrementing totalizer based upon fuel used, and not fuel remaining.

I'll RTFM and come back with any questions.

Thanks!

I wish everything else had that fuel flow counter, I love that thing. One of its few luxuries.

On the fuel counter, I now find myself adjusting the fuel in planes they are automatically done in like MiG-21 and keep flaming out becuase you’re not suppossed to touch it:)

I just read Chuck's guide.

Seems I've only been using "nominal" power (when not using AB).

I must say I'm generally rather lazy when it comes to fuel. These older aircraft demand you to know their external tank quantities, both for computing flight time, but also quantity remaining.

The fuel gauge only shows the main consumption tank (Tank No.1) quantity and as AeriaGloria said this works by measuring fuel consumption, not actual fuel quantity in the tank. The external tanks when empty can be noticed by a green lamp in the lower front dash.

Also, the MiG-19P RD-9B engines are very efficient at high altitude even with AB engaged.

Yes. "New aircraft" syndrome.

I managed 1 hour 24 mins so far with mostly supersonic flight.

I know some might be thinking "this is a very small issue", "no one cares", etc.

Well, to me there are no small issues in simulating anything, especially full-fidelity modules in DCS which is our passion here. In fact, the small issues show you the level of details that module has. And no doubt appreciation and admiration grow proportionally to the dedication of the developer to their work. So far the work on the MiG-19 has been great with answering so many questions, replying to bug reports and fixing those.

I only hope the developers share this same attitude regarding this "small" issue here :smilewink:

You don´t need to explain why you want to have a small issue fixed. It is totally correct and understandable. Please, keep helping us find this problems.

Not sure if this relates only to the MiG-19 and/or if it's a DCS issue, haven't seen happen with any other jests though so thought it best to post here - it's very odd effect.

Hi, today i tried to command ground crew to Stow the boarding ladder and he reply "copy" but doesn't place the ladder. Is it broken or wasn't it implemented?

The radar scope is pixelated when off in the English and Chinese cockpits.

The issue appears to be with the rough material texture interfering with the radar off texture. When I switched out the texture with the one in the Russian cockpit it fixed the pixelated scope.

In the English and Chinese cockpits the canopy frames have texture aliasing around the edges. The top picture is in the 'Russian factory fresh' cockpit.

Also, aliasing around the gear status lights, and some lettering around the cockpit.

With the latest patch the AB lights turn on when off and vice-versa. The other indicator lights are more difficult to see such as the mil power light.

Yeah, and the radar scope screen is very dim when powered on.

This happens to me with my joystick buttons :

- the button I assigned to left gun arm actually arms the left gun, but this is the right button that is animated as pressed in the cockpit,

- same thing with the right gun : correct action but inverted animation.

Please close the sound barrier when you leave.
