wraith70 Posted November 4, 2020 Posted November 4, 2020 I have a simple mission with a land based JTAC with the autolase script. Working scenario GBU-10 codes are default 1688 JTAC starts lasing lasing on 1688 Uncage, LSS starts and goes to LST when it finds the laser Do a standard CCRP drop and the bomb always hits Non-working scenario Bombs are set to 1688 JTAC starts lasing on 1685 I use the DED to change the LST code to 1685. TGP code is default 1688 Uncage, LSS starts and goes to LST when it finds the laser Do the standard CCRP drop and the bomb always misses. The TGP always has the target in sight for the entire delivery. Is there something I am missing? -Wraith
fudabidu Posted November 4, 2020 Posted November 4, 2020 Bombs are set to 1688 JTAC starts lasing on 1685 LGBs and JTAC codes need to match. LSS only changes the code for the TGP. The bomb codes have to be set up in the ME or while shut down on the ground, using the kneeboard. If the JTAC is lasing for you (and the codes match) the TGP doesn't need to keep looking at the target. Otherwise you'll have to manually lase using the first trigger detent
ricktoberfest Posted November 4, 2020 Posted November 4, 2020 I don’t know if it works on the viper, but in the a10 I have the lss set to the jtac, and the tpod designator set to whatever the bombs are with airplane turned on. The lss is for spotting the target and aligning the tpod, and then when I drop the bomb the tpod designates the target with the correct code.

That's the way I understand it, but doesn't seem to work that way on the Viper.
wraith70 Posted November 4, 2020 Author Posted November 4, 2020 Here is a quick mission. Currently JTAC laser code is set to 1685. Give it a try. If not successful, set the autolase trigger to 1688. Everything will work fine. F-16C - JTAC Laser Targeting GBU - Moving Targets Day.miz
Florence201 Posted November 5, 2020 Posted November 5, 2020 LGB Codes are hard set prior to engine start and cannot be changed in the air. You can change the laser and TGP codes, but not the bomb codes Codes can be changed through the kneeboard [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Donglr Posted November 5, 2020 Posted November 5, 2020 That's the way I understand it, but doesn't seem to work that way on the Viper. That would be the only way to do it if the JTAC has a different code than you have. At that point, dropping a GBU via JTAC is no different than dropping a GBU by youself, except that the JTAC helped you to find a target (via LSS). So make sure you have got your procedures down for self-lasing.

VirusAM Posted November 7, 2020 Posted November 7, 2020 Are you firing your laser? I don't believe the Viper has autolase yet. Well he is talking about lss so the jtac should lase for him. ricktoberfest Posted November 7, 2020 Posted November 7, 2020 Well he is talking about lss so the jtac should lase for him. Can you upload a track please Except the jtac is on a different laser frequency. He needs to fire his tpod laser on the bomb freq
wraith70 Posted November 11, 2020 Author Posted November 11, 2020 Except the jtac is on a different laser frequency. He needs to fire his tpod laser on the bomb freq This statement is correct. The JTAC aligns my TPOD, then the bomb has to be lased by me since it is on a different frequency. I must have been doing something wrong before with the JTAC, but now my TPOD finds the laser on 1685. Thanks for all the help. -Wraith 1
BuzzU Posted November 11, 2020 Posted November 11, 2020 The way I understand it is you shouldn't be able to change the code in the air. It's always done on the ground. The Hornet and Hog are wrong and the Viper has it right. JTAC needs to change their code to what the bomb has. 1 Buzz
Fri13 Posted November 11, 2020 Posted November 11, 2020 As ED has already implemented the unrealistic features to change laser codes of various LGU, and they are making F-16 to be first with real limitations (and capabilities for weapons that has the digital connectivity to change it), it would be nice that the unrealistic laser code change capability is put behind GAME MODE for those who just wants to have easier. But all the SIM settings are by default then for realistic laser code managements. 1 i7-8700k, 32GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 2x 2080S SLI 8GB, Oculus Rift S. i7-8700k, 16GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 1080Ti 11GB, 27" 4K, 65" HDR 4K.

Mike5560 Posted November 15, 2020 Posted November 15, 2020 And the JTAC should be able to change their laser code. Everything IRL is changeable in mission except for the codes on the 12s themselves. 2
