Ok we have spent 3 weeks with a copy of 1.1 and here are our findings.

We have made a lite preview leaving out technical details as SimHQ has already covered this in their fantasic review, you will find testers PC specs and overall performance and FPS hits for 1.1.

Most importantly a gallery of mouth watering screenshots ! :D

Re: LockonSkins - Flaming Cliff 1.1 Mini-Preview

MrWolf,

This is all very encouraging; thanks for your hard work!

Is the multiplayer performance better than before? Reliability?

Thanks,

I cant remember 1.1 ever crashing on me in SP and MP !!

1.02 does it eveytime i play it !!

The Su25T SP missions are really good with the AI Wingman staying with right down to 50m AGL unlike the current ones that crap their pants and pull up as soon as the ground gets nearer ! ;)

Do high altitude flights still dive towards low altiutde threats like shilkas?

Basically, no. They are much more controllable now in this regard.

To Aquarius: Oh, fantastic work Aquarius! I have thought ED made that...

Good to know that the Flanker can use rockets now. I would to know if an air-ground radar is implemented in the sim. Thanks in advance.

Thats a very good preview, thanks Mr Wolf

Just a question to you guys or to ED, How much is the avionics done in FC. Is the Su25T and Su25 button for button, proper start procedures etc in the modeling. Whats missing? I think they are getting very close with this considering the Laser designator and other gadgets. I'm very much looking forward to down loading this.

cheers

Great Preview !

Unlike the Advanced Flight Model, these improvements apply to all flyable Russian aircraft.

How does this work out ?

Are there 2 different flight models coded into the engine or some different routines and tweaks that only apply to the new aircraft ?

Did they improve the ground handling of the other aircrafts ?

As I said, the AFM is for the Su-25T (and also the vanilla Su-25). It was specifically designed to simulate an Su-25. I assume the AFM is partly generic phsysics engine and partly specific to the aircraft. Else ED would have applied it to all aircraft and have them all act basically the same. As far as I can tell they chose not to do this as the AFM is intended to be realistic, not generic. (as in IL-2)

The revised huds, radar modes, ILS etc are for all Russian aircraft.

Many thanks for MrWolf, ALDEGA and Anzac. It’s great Preview. :)

All is written very well.

One small correction for that:

“Artificial Intelligence: This has improved, I swear a Shilka turned its radar on then off when I ‘painted’ him with my phantasmagoria pod!!”

Phantasmagoria is a pure passive device and, it nothing radiates also this work to notice it is impossible.

In the rest all is very true. :)

That´s what i wondered. Usually a flight model is something global that applies to all aircrafts. Like physics are the same for all objects IRL. It was a rather technically question.

I assume the 3D model is very connected with the physics model (gear struts, pivot points etc) and all the other aircrafts models would have had to be redone.
