stealthtemplates Posted August 2, 2008 Posted August 2, 2008 Quick answer: Not yet with first module ("Black Shark"). DCS will support multicores later when will come new game engine. lol that will easily run DCS maxed out, this is not Crysis remember ;)
Buren Posted August 2, 2008 Posted August 2, 2008 lol that will easily run DCS maxed out, this is not Crysis remember ;) Hope not FSX either. ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
HUAF-074 Posted August 2, 2008 Posted August 2, 2008 ... and not IL-2 ;) AMD Athlon 64 6000+, 4GB DDRII 800+, 400GB RAID0, HD4870 1GB, 22" LCD 16:9, Saitek X52, TrackIr 3 Pro
Buren Posted August 2, 2008 Posted August 2, 2008 There's no problem with IL-2's performance... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
stealthtemplates Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 FSX's performance was disgraceful, IL-2 performance is great considering the realism, graphics and AI used, im getting 120fps+ when playing... I hope DCS can optimise it like that :)
VMFA117_Poko Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 (edited) It's still same engine but DCS has many more 3d objects and more detailed, much more complex flight dynamics, more complex avionics, 6DOF cockpit... It's not so obvious for now that it will run smoothly in highest settings in 1920x1200 on my spec stealthtemplates, so pls don't lol me 'cuz you're not a beta nor ED member. Wait for official statement about spec. Edited August 3, 2008 by Poko24

Ratel Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 (edited) How will this do? E6750 @ 2.66 (std) 2gb ram 667 8500 gt 512 mb----> this being the question Edited August 6, 2008 by Ratel
Amuro Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Almost no computer will be able to handle DCS:BS with everything on full. Also the simulation is much more dependant on CPU than on graphics card. Get a good processor and plenty of RAM and that graphics card should do ok. That sucks. Anyways, I plan to upgrade to Nehalem as soon as it's out. Hopefully that will help a little. Fodder Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 What the hell.. If you have that computer that's in your sig Amuro, then I'm positive you will be able to run it with everything full no problem. Upgrading from that so soon would be just stupid. But hey, if you got the money then by all means go for it, but for anyone with a budjet, that would not be the smartest idea :P If that doesn't run BS with 1920x1200 everything full then it's just f'd up. Because just an oc'd 8800GTS 512MB and a Q6600 @ 3.2ghz can run lockon with 5760x1200. Not everything full of course but it's playable
qrazi Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 How will this do? E6750 @ 2.66 (std) 2gb ram 667 8500 gt 512 mb----> this being the question 8500 GT will not let you fly with lot's of eyecandy.... Best advice, wait to release of DCS:BS and then get a new videocard that fits your budget. CPU should be okay, and RAM too... Weta43 Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 (edited) Going back to the original question: Would 6600GT (128 mb) bee enough? That's what I'm using, & while I'm enjoying it, you'd probably be happier with something stronger (I will upgrade soon). Edited August 8, 2008 by Weta43 Cheers.

Canada Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 I don't mean to brag, but do 2 8800GTS show a performance increase over a single one ? And even if the program does not support SLI, what about in forced mode ? Helicopters fly.
VMFA117_Poko Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 I don't mean to brag, but do 2 8800GTS show a performance increase over a single one ? And even if the program does not support SLI, what about in forced mode ?Games doesn't need to be written for SLI - drivers will do the job. Things are different for multicore cpu's. So performence should increase with two 8800GTS.
