Warbird_242 Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 DCS Afghanistan Yes, this should be in the wish list thread, but I reckon that this will be quite a popular idea:music_whistling::D Afghanistan map - my suggestion would be Helmand, but that's because I'm British, and also Helmand has had the fiercest fighting recently. But anyway, perfect for the A 10 and Apache ( currently operating) fairly simple to make ( desert, mountains and the 'green' zone ) and also would be good for some Afghan/Soviet scenarios if the Mi 24 ever materialises. What does everyone else think???
VS461 Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 An Afghan scenery would be nice. +1 But... a European etc. also:D. (3rd party) scenery devs, go go go! За всю историю никто и никогда не сумел завоевать Афганистан. Hикто и никогда
Warbird_242 Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 DCS Afghanistan ( again ) and please read before moving moderators! I have reposted this thing because it is not a 'wish' but it is a genuine suggestion and I am sure that others will be replying and I don't want to clog up the wish list because it is already very confusing. SO please levae it here. thanks ED. Right, as before, the idea is a map of Afghanistan, or more specifically helmand province. Perfect for the A 10, Apache, and good for the Mi 24 in Afghan / Soviet wars. What does everyone else think
Griffin Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 Somebody is already working on it. Looks like a good start. Hopefully it turns out well. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=750942&postcount=43
Warbird_242 Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 That looks good but for it to work really well it would have to come from ED. I was thinking more of a full package sort of thing, possibly coinciding with the Apache release, but I visualised an integrated campaign system, one that suits the CAS mission being flown in Helmand currently.
hitman Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 I dont want add-on scenery, but better scenery. The scenery in BS seems claustrophobic compared to scenery in FSX. You have a poor sense of depth perception in BS (and by relations, FC). Am I saying go nuts like M$ did? No, but the terrain can be so much better. 1

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. I think its unlikely that any modder will take his/her time to build a mod if it doesn't float his/her boat, no matter how many members of the community would love to have it. Personally, given the time and resources, I'd be more inclined to build a Hawaii theater... Edited September 19, 2009 by Hawg11 Dave "Hawg11" St. Jean

Actually on second thoughts I prefer afghanistan:D

Feuerfalke Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 The hind would be good fun for a few missions, but don't you think a bit stale compared to the KA-50? Not at all. 1. It probably will be flyable by Pilot and Gunner in Multiplayer 2. It can carry troops 3. While the Ka-50 is primarily small and agile, the Hind is primarily heavy and mean MSI X670E Gaming Plus | AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D | 64 GB DDR4 | AMD RX 6900 XT | LG 55" @ 4K | Cougar 1000 W | CreativeX G6 | TIR5 | CH HOTAS (with BU0836X-12 Bit) + Crosswind Pedals | Win11 64 HP | StreamDeck XL | 3x TM MFD

TKMR Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 I think the opposite is true. The more commercial 3rd-party groups create high quality content for a game and see that they can make money from it, the more the producers of the original game profit, because some details of the enhanced game catch somebodies interest. Just imagine what would happen if somebody would produce a realistic European theater of war, based on a detailed 10m mesh with tons of objects and famous locations like Berlin or the real Fulda Gap Scenario the BlackShark was designed for. You really think that would lower sales for BlackShark? Very true, however I hope that if tools were released to be able to create new vehicles for use by the user, that ED has some kind of approval system so only the most realistic, high fidelity AC are allowed through, and we don't end up getting crap that has an unrealistic FM, or things that are classified. And yeah, it would bring in more revenue, not less, because people would need BS to be able to fly those 3rd party AC. It's not like they would be standalone. I don't think many companies would be willing to create AC to the standards of DCS however, or be too happy about an approval system. Go MP, get a second soundcard, let TS (or vent) use one, let BS use the other, voila. Your request: When the sound engine is able to handle multi channel audio, then it sould be possible to grant your request (if you have a multichannel audio card), however, i don't think that many people would use it, so it's probably not going to happen. Seriously? I think a lot of people would be interested. Especially people who build pits. And using a headset for TS isn't the same as having in-game voice, warnings, and such play through a headset while sound effects, rotor sounds, etc play through speakers. Yes, the meaning of multichannel audio is to have some sounds come out of one channel while others come out of the other. However, as long as BS has no multichannel audio support, i do not know if it is possible (BS only supports stereo ATM IIRC). It also depends a lot on the sound engine, which i know nothing about in this case. Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!

dburne Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 (edited) Ok so I have had and been running Black Shark for about a week and a half now, so figure I can now contribute to the " wish list " thread... :) Couple things that I myself would like to see: Easier multi monitor support, especially for displaying things like Shkval and Abris. I hate to compare, but take FSX - you can open things like atc window, radio stack, gps - in a seperate window, and from there it is a simple matter of dragging over to the secondary monitor and bam - you got them displayed on the secondary monitor for easy viewing. Does not matter the monitor size or resolution. You can resize those windows to any size you wish. Can even do this when running in full screen mode. I would like to see similar in Black Shark, and when I first got the sim and was reading through the quick guide I thought that might be the case. Track IR panning support in exterior views. The sim already supports Track IR, and it would be nice imho if you could just look around when viewing exterior views rather than having to reach over and move the mouse. Ok so that is my two cents, or week and a half's worth. :) Edited September 20, 2009 by dburne Don B EVGA Z390 Dark MB | i9 9900k CPU @ 5.1 GHz | Gigabyte 4090 OC | 64 GB Corsair Vengeance 3200 MHz CL16 | Corsair H150i Pro Cooler |Virpil CM3 Stick w/ Alpha Prime Grip 200mm ext| Virpil CM3 Throttle | VPC Rotor TCS Base w/ Alpha-L Grip| Point Control V2|Varjo Aero|
panther265 Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Not sure if this has popped up before, but maybe the tutorial videos can be downloaded like current videos, however in the game an interactive tutorial would be great. For e.g. the trainer can read out what needs to be done (e.g. uncage shkval/lock target) and the player takes has to perform the task..
Haukka81 Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Hi. I hope that someone teaches a group of black shark how to make a nice menus, etc. The flight model and the realism is in order, but menus not get attracted to a game. sobek Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Well, the gui has seen favourable reviews mostly, what is it that you don't like about it? Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!

However, as long as BS has no multichannel audio support, i do not know if it is possible (BS only supports stereo ATM IIRC). It also depends a lot on the sound engine, which i know nothing about in this case. AFAIK it supports 7.1. I remember seeing someone posting that they were using 7.1 and it worked excellently. I know I have a 5.1 system, and it works with that. =D if you have a USB headset then you can have your TS/Vent through your headset and the game sounds through the speakers... So I'm told. Correct, because in TeamSpeak you can tell it what sound card to use for output/input, and USB headsets have their own sound card. Not sure if this has popped up before, but maybe the tutorial videos can be downloaded like current videos, however in the game an interactive tutorial would be great. For e.g. the trainer can read out what needs to be done (e.g. uncage shkval/lock target) and the player takes has to perform the task.. YES! Please! The tutorials are great, but once you start playing after the tutorial is finished you are on your own, and it isn't necessarily the easiest thing to remember all the steps. Like the startup sequence. To bad the current trigger system doesn't allow for things like: Once X button is clicked, play new sound. So as you are going along, it plays the new voice, so it doesn't get ahead of you and confuse you. Hi. I hope that someone teaches a group of black shark how to make a nice menus, etc. The flight model and the realism is in order, but menus not get attracted to a game. Something similar like Longbow 2.. -haukka81 ,finland. I believe some people in the Russian forums are working on the GUI right now, but it's mostly in the mission editor to change some things to make it easier to use. I think... that might be totally off though. I think the GUI is really cool I love the BS on the main screen, and the buttons on different parts of the helicopter. :D Oh, and I know this has been mentioned before, but I'm going to mention it again because I so desperately want it: Some way to check the headings and placements of the objects in the mission editor so we don't have to load up the game to see where the objects are. Especially the Block on Road. It is such a pain in the ass to align it with the road properly, because you can't see where it is in relation to the road in the mission editor. And making FARPs, the FARPs in my missions always suck because I don't want to expend the effort to keep loading the game, and checking where my units are in relation to the Helipads. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE! ^^ Edited September 22, 2009 by TKMR Lead Admin/Founder of Kilo-Tango Gaming Community

I know I have a 5.1 system, and it works with that. =D The sound coming out of all speakers is because you switched your windows to spread your soundsignals to 5.1 or 7.1 speakers. Additionally you can also use equalizers from your sounddrivers to e.g. create surround-sound-environment for stereo-sound. Neither means that the game is supporting 5.1 or 7.1, though. :smilewink: MSI X670E Gaming Plus | AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D | 64 GB DDR4 | AMD RX 6900 XT | LG 55" @ 4K | Cougar 1000 W | CreativeX G6 | TIR5 | CH HOTAS (with BU0836X-12 Bit) + Crosswind Pedals | Win11 64 HP | StreamDeck XL | 3x TM MFD
