Jafergon Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 We badly need the new S-3 and SH-60. I think they are coming this year 6
Northstar98 Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 (edited) Agreed. There was so much slated for improvement/release in the January 2021 newsletter, but there really hasn't been anything since then - no updates, no teaser screenshots. Quote AI Units New and Updated assets Because DCS World is built on a project spanning almost two decades, some units now show their age and will be updated throughout the year. It is also important that we add new units to better fill the battlefields. Here are some of the items that we intend to create or update in 2021: Large Aircraft: B-52H, Tu-95MS, Tu-142, B-1B, IL-38, and Tu-160 Carrier Aircraft: S-3B and SH-60B Ground Units: M1A2, AMX-56 Leclerc, Wespe Sd.Kfz.124, KS-19 100mm ADA, Son-4 “Flap Wheel” radar, C1 Ariete, Pantsir SA-22 “Greyhound”, and S-300/SA-10 “Grumble”. Spoiler Interesting how the Il-38 is on the list, which is pretty much a dedicated ASW MPA. This will be the 2nd large MPA for REDFOR - BLUFOR still doesn't have one yet (best candidate being the P-3C Orion - preferably a P-3C Update III Orion circa ~mid 80s/early 90s). Both the Tu-142 (and likely the Il-38) are missing a lot of their stores - but this is mostly ASW equipment (sonobuoys, depth charges, torpedoes, as well as mines). Same for a lot of units teased earlier (in some cases a lot earlier) - some seen here (of which only the T-72B3 obr. 2016) has been added. I always check all 3D models on any patch and I post the last 3D model updated. Teased units some of them has "implemented" but not release, other has into DCS directories and other no added. 2 For Work/Gaming: 28" Philips 246E Monitor - Ryzen 7 1800X - 32 GB DDR4 - nVidia RTX1080 - SSD 860 EVO 1 TB / 860 QVO 1 TB / 860 QVO 2 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Warthog / TPR / MDF
AKULA_OPTIMUS Posted March 23, 2021 Posted March 23, 2021 They will come, but it looks like its not a priority at all. Dunno, a dedicated person can make a pretty good 3d model in two weeks or so, it´s no that hard, at least compared to coding and all that stuff
Worrazen Posted March 24, 2021 Posted March 24, 2021 (edited) Transporters and tankers hopefully before Dynamic Campaign. If you ask me on a subjective convenience sort of a viewpoint, I'd even delay the release of the Dynamic Campaign or at least it going into release status before the infrastructure-transport-supply-cargo units are freshened up, even tho the visuals I guess don't really have any direct connection to the Dynamic Campaign, but my idea is a bigger one, to have these transporter and tanker at other units designed/updated with the Dynamic Campaign supply-cargo-transport-infrastructure interoperability in mind so that they feature the animations needed for the supply-transport chain to flow like butter, and some extra fucntionality where applicable and/or possible while still being AI units, as a compromise for likely no a full fidelity heavy aircraft so soon. Within reason tho, I think this is it, new ATC probably not a chance, according to what I heard in a recent interview. It's sort of interesthing how each of these things is a bang on their own, but when you count Dynamic Campaign into that it kinda feels like the combination increases the power by a magnitude rather than just twice. It's like sugar spice and everything nice, but there comes the chemical X. Edited March 24, 2021 by Worrazen Modules: A-10C I/II, F/A-18C, Mig-21Bis, M-2000C, AJS-37, Spitfire LF Mk. Northstar98 Posted November 18, 2021 Posted November 18, 2021 (edited) Not in this update at least, so far we've got a new S-24 and FAB-250 added (though the previous FAB-250 is actually an OFAB-250-270)). RWC Posted December 8, 2021 Posted December 8, 2021 Supporting the topic on improved AI models, especially the bigger cargo/ transport planes. The engines look hilarious ! The engines look like out of a LEGO box. 1

Tomcatter87 Posted April 19, 2023 Posted April 19, 2023 I'd like to stress again, too, that those new assets would be much appreciated - especially the Viking. I even look forward to making skins that suit our existing carriers and the community-made repaints for them. 2 "Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward.
