I am finding the F/A-18C with 2.7 very unstable in roll. Even with a balanced weapon load the aircraft keeps rolling from level wings. Input roll trim is not as effective as previously.

I've noticed no change and I have a lot of stick time in my Hornet. I noticed the slightly changed spool up sounds though.

I was probably wrong with my description. It is not actually roll stability but the greater tendency to roll due to being out of trim. I now need to operate the roll trim significantly to keep the wings level. It is a pain when you are doing other cockpit house keeping.

Usually trimming the rudder first with asymmetric loads should remove the rolling tendency.  Have a look at the ball on the standby AI and see if it needs trimming.  I do agree though that the effect is a little over done, the airplane is able to compensate a bit more for adverse roll, but its up to you for yaw trim.

I've been flying the Hornet since release and have never even touched the yaw trim. Never needed it, just use roll and yaw is compensated for.

Difference between never needed and made do without. I can guarantee that you needed it at some point, you just made do without it by roll trimming.

Tbh I probably just used the rudder subconscious. I fly a lot of Warbirds and rudder work is a habit. Especially in the 109.

I have moved out of the bugs section, if you do think it is a bug please provide a track replay of your test and the data you think is wrong.

We can not change things based on feelings, we can only use data and SME feedback.

thanks

Yaw trim is needed for double ugly type configurations for sure. Sometimes a lot of it.

Yes but an out of trim aircraft, for example due to asymmetric stores, will induce yaw, which induces roll
