3080ti vs 6900XT , any guesses which one will be better?

With the 3080ti coming out in a few weeks , which card do you guys think will come out on top for VR performance with a Reverb headset?

 

The 6900XT has 16 gb of DDR6 VRAM but has a bandwidth of 512 gb/s on a 256-bit bus.

 

The 3080ti is expected to have 12 gb of GDDR6X VRAM with a bandwidth of 912 gb/s on a 384-bit bus.

 

So...for DCS use only with a high pixel headset like the Reverb, which one would be better? high VRAM or high bandwidth? 

 

I know that supply and/or price may be an issue but let's assume you could get either card at retail price, what would you go for?

Yep.  Just try to get your hands on one  

For WIW, I have a 3080 and the memory usage is always maxed out (10GB) so feels like more VRAM would come handy

Not very impressed with bench reports I've seen on the 3080 in comparison to the 2080 ti. A new generation SHOULD boast more than 10-12% performance boost in my opinion.

 

The 3080ti SHOULD provide a 25+% boost over the 2080ti, but that remains to be seen.

 

If all things being relative, the RTX 3060 is hardly a replacement for the 1080 ti (considering their pricing). The same may be true for the 2080ti - 3080.

I believe it’s all about the vRam.  
3080 would be a pass for me.

If you only want to play DCS the rasterizer only GPU might fit a bit better. If you want to play other games as well, raytracing and DLSS on dedicated cores aren't features to ignore.

Anyone have seen benchmarks for DCS and a reverb g2 between 3080ti and 6900xt.

 

I'm thinking of getting one of those now that prices are dropping a bit, and I would like the fastest one in VR.

 

Its DCS VR (reverb G2) the only gaming i do these days on my PC.

I would say the situation hasn’t changed enough for Rapid’s advice to be any different.

Also, the 3090 isn’t much more than the 3080ti, if you can find any that aren’t tied to stupid bundles.

What cordite said. It's quite possible to find a 3090 for almost the same price as the 3080ti, and you get double the VRAM, which is a HUGE help in DCS. Or at least it will be if they ever optimize the engine

I would say Vram . 

DCS - isn't the most optimized game on the market .

Me I'm going  AMD as DCS is going Vukan game engine .
