BBQ Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 Wags any information on what happens at the end of life of BS or FC with the copy protection or if ED go boobies vertical? While ever they are around or they are supporting there releases old or current I don't personally have an issue with SF as it's never given me any problems, but I was wondering what happens if in 10 years I want to install it? Regards Paul Then you just go to the website, and login. First you will retrieve your serial number/code. Then, way down at the bottom, after all of the many modules that have been published, there will be a seperate, special section of links for the original DCS: Blackshark (Game of the Year Edition, Extended Edition, Special Edition, 5th year Anniversery Edition, 10 year Anniversery Edition, Gold Edition, and finally, the Francis Ford Coppola Approved Absolute Final Cut Not Releasing Another Version Edition.) Then you'll just pick one of those and d/load it. After you install it it will ask for your serial number, and you'll be back in business. 2

I'm also pretty fed up with all those IFs, WHAT-IFs, WHENs, WHEN-MATCHs ... if all those were grabed and put into expert's system inference engine ... maaaan ... what a knowledge base one can get ... maybe someone should also check up if the stars are good for the release date ... heh ... spare me ... pleaaase ... ;-)

Expectations are high, I just hope it won’t disappoint….. then again just looking at the producer’s notes videos..well somehow I think we are all in for a treat:joystick:. Can’t wait for the western version to be released, let alone getting my hands on the manual before the game comes out:book:. I’ve even built myself a home made cockpit just for Black Shark in anticipation of the game coming out in 2009

I was more interested in what would happen if ED went out of business (ie no website) and/or if after a decent amount of time ED would decide that no one in the right mind would be trying to crack one of it's older games/sims anymore and release a patch to remove the SF protection. No matter what EDs plans are now things change and I was just wondering if there were any contigency or long term plans? Don't read this as anything against SF or any other copy protection, obviosly as a user I want it as easy as possible, but as someone who is also in the creative market I understand people like to "borrow" things you have done and there is nothing more infuriating, and that is not even contemplating any financial ramifications of such a thing. VMFA117_Poko Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 Folks, Looks like this needs to be stated again, enough of the SF posts. Eagle is fully aware that some people are not pleased with the decision and will not purchase Black Shark because of it. We get that and we heard you. Eagle spent many months discussing and reviewing this decision, it was not taken lightly. We respect your right to choose what you buy based on the copy protection method, but we ask that you respect our decision on how we wish to best protect our investment. This decision is final and further posts on the subject can only be viewed as trying to instigate further ranting or influence others not to purchase the project. As such, the moderators have been instructed to remove such posts as they serve no purpose other than to inflame and spam our forums. As per our forum rules, rants and flames on any subject will be dealt with warnings and then bans if needed. Thanks, MattWhatever you do, it's ok. I can see your intensions are always good. I was wrong not believing in it. Apologize for that.

Cosmonaut Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 At least now we know. My guess: Two different distributors, one for Russia and one for the west, selling BS at different times, is bound to conflict with the original release agreement between the two companies. Cozmo. Skkuda Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 Well.... Although the game will be available for download from the 1C web site, it will not be available to western consumers Things couldn´t get worse.... We need to take care in the manner that we express our frustration (mine in my case) because if not we are going to get banned or posts deleted. Sorry can´t found the exactly words to express the way that i´m feeling right now. Skuda.
