ED Team Groove Posted October 11, 2008 ED Team Posted October 11, 2008 Good old RT news ;) Well, it's a record of that missile, thats all. The missile itselfs is a SLBM R-29RM Sineva. Launch was from a K-114 Tula, Project 667BDRM. NATO CODE is SS-N-23 Skiffer, afaik only 16 Missiles are deployed so far. Our Forum Rules: http://forums.eagle.ru/rules.php#en
RvETito Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 It's nice to see that Kuznetzov is still sailing. "See, to me that's a stupid instrument. It tells what your angle of attack is. If you don't know you shouldn't be flying." - Chuck Yeager, from the back seat of F-15D at age 89. =RvE=
ED Team Groove Posted October 12, 2008 ED Team Posted October 12, 2008 Judging from the picture they must have been very confident that nothing will go wrong. Well, obviously this missile arent the Bulava :D Our Forum Rules: http://forums.eagle.ru/rules.php#en
159th_Viper Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 What kind of ICBM is Sineva? A Bad-A$$ ICBM! 4c Hajduk Veljko Posted October 12, 2008 Author Posted October 12, 2008 WOW!!! Nice pictures indeed!!!! Thermaltake Kandalf LCS | Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R | Etasis ET750 (850W Max) | i7-920 OC to 4.0 GHz | Gigabyte HD5850 | OCZ Gold 6GB DDR3 2000 | 2 X 30GB OCZ Vertex SSD in RAID 0 | ASUS VW266H 25.5" | LG Blue Ray 10X burner | TIR 5 | Saitek X-52 Pro | Logitech G930 | Saitek Pro flight rudder pedals | Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit
Alfa Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 It's nice to see that Kuznetzov is still sailing. Yeah it is - apparently the problems with the propulsion system that have plagued the Kuznetsov(and previous aviation cruisers for that matter) seem to have been resolved at last :) . JJ
RvETito Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 Great pics Groove! I like especially the last one- I immediately imagined how the poor Su-33 takes-off and gets splashed by the biggest nuke ever :D Ouch! But 11000+ km range, that's insane. I guess next step is 'Fox5' boomerang- 40000km range. You shoot, the missile goes around the globe and falls into your back yard... The chopper is a submarine hunter Ka-27PL, shame that the WSO panel is not seen, I wonder of that one is from the upgraded serie. "See, to me that's a stupid instrument. Vekkinho Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 I like the part where it says: Medvedev also gave the ministry the task of building more aircraft carriers in the next few years. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Boberro Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 Seems this hardware wasn't upgraded for looooong time. nice "furnitures" also weren't changed I had similar 20-30 years ago :D ... Anyway good to see it still swims. Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D ಠ_ಠ ツ
wasserfall Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 He i thought Medevedev was watching his laundry getting washed:) Intel Core i5-9600K, Gigabyte Z390 AORUS PRO, 16GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro, Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2080 WINDFORCE 8G
EvilBivol-1 Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 A series of personal photos from a sailor aboard the (I believe - Alfa can confirm :)) Adm. Levchenko. 4c Hajduk Veljko Posted October 12, 2008 Author Posted October 12, 2008 Well, it's a record of that missile, thats all.Is it like a record for a submarine launched missile? 4c Hajduk Veljko Posted October 13, 2008 Author Posted October 13, 2008 http://www.militaryphotos.net/forums/showthread.php?t=143827According to that article, the target was in Pacific Ocean? From the north of Europe to Pacific Ocean? Launched form submarine. Pilotasso Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 (edited) According to that article, the target was in Pacific Ocean? From the north of Europe to Pacific Ocean? Launched form submarine. They are not called ICBM's for nothing. Nothing to be excited about unless you want to see who will be able to wipe out all life on earth the fastest. :) EDIT: I was exagerating. Microbes will still survive to dominate the planet and keep earths record of being one of the few planets in the universe containing life, supporting the theory that single cell life forms are superior to man :D Edited October 13, 2008 by Pilotasso 1 .

4c Hajduk Veljko Posted October 13, 2008 Author Posted October 13, 2008 SLBM, not ICBM Pilotasso *nitpicking*S for submarine? Vekkinho Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 Originally Posted by =4c= Hajduk Veljko According to that article, the target was in Pacific Ocean? From the north of Europe to Pacific Ocean? Launched form submarine. Yeah, but did it hit?! I saw no pics of target! LOL! The other thing to bear in mind is that missile trajectory didn't go over continents of Europe and Northern America but over Arctic, think of it crossing latitude instead of longitude! Each meridian is 20,003.93 km long so great circle would be 2X. But range of that missile is quite impressive, easily reaching equator from the poles! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Mustang Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 S for submarine? Yep, Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Submarine-launched_ballistic_missile
