It's nice to see that Kuznetzov is still sailing.

A Bad-A$$ ICBM!

"R-29RM Shetal/Sineva (SS-N-23 'Skiff'/RSM-54/3M27)

Inter-continental-range, submarine-launched, liquid-propellant, Multiple Independently targetable Re-entry Vehicle (MIRV)-capable ballistic missile."

Yeah it is - apparently the problems with the propulsion system that have plagued the Kuznetsov(and previous aviation cruisers for that matter) seem to have been resolved at last :) .

Great pics Groove! I like especially the last one- I immediately imagined how the poor Su-33 takes-off and gets splashed by the biggest nuke ever :D Ouch! But 11000+ km range, that's insane. I guess next step is 'Fox5' boomerang- 40000km range. You shoot, the missile goes around the globe and falls into your back yard...

The chopper is a submarine hunter Ka-27PL, shame that the WSO panel is not seen, I wonder of that one is from the upgraded serie.

"furnitures" also weren't changed I had similar 20-30 years ago :D ...

Anyway good to see it still swims.

Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D

Well, it's a record of that missile, thats all.
Is it like a record for a submarine launched missile?

According to that article, the target was in Pacific Ocean? From the north of Europe to Pacific Ocean? Launched form submarine.

They are not called ICBM's for nothing. Nothing to be excited about unless you want to see who will be able to wipe out all life on earth the fastest. :)

EDIT: I was exagerating. Microbes will still survive to dominate the planet and keep earths record of being one of the few planets in the universe containing life, supporting the theory that single cell life forms are superior to man :D

Yeah, but did it hit?! I saw no pics of target! LOL!

The other thing to bear in mind is that missile trajectory didn't go over continents of Europe and Northern America but over Arctic, think of it crossing latitude instead of longitude!

Each meridian is 20,003.93 km long so great circle would be 2X. But range of that missile is quite impressive, easily reaching equator from the poles!
