id say the flankers and the hog are the most interesting, there isnt really much else to be had with fc3 at that point

unless you just wanna hoard planes id say those two are your best options

If you want a 4th gen decently modern HWF (F-15/J-11A) (F-16/18 are LWFs, and with the upcoming radar changes for the F-16 [already happened for F-18], youll find flying them as HWFs in BVR to be... not fun), or you like 80s A2G (A-10A), FC3 may be worth it. Also, if you like red jets, its your only option, at least until EDs 9.12A

HWF = heavy weight fighter

LWF = light weight fighter

Hog A is basically older, lacks more modern systems and sensors, depends more on the older dumb munition, not all that smart and stand-off, so it forces you to be closer to action and face the enemy and anti-aircraft defences more.

FC3 is worth it imho - this packs a lot of fun in many different airframes (none of them available otherwise in full fidelity), hundreds of missions, campaigns. You may not be able to click or control every function but don't let it fool you - you still need many hours of training and skill to be proficient in the battlefield against formidable enemies. It's just more accessible to get into. Professional Flight Model puts the same high demands on your flying skills as the full fidelity modules.

Even with almost all the full-fidelity modules in my inventory, I've been flying the F-15C a lot recently due to the simplicity, and the eye-watering thrust it has. The only full-fidelity module I know of that can easily cruise in the 30,000s like the Eagle can is the Mirage 2000.

Late to the discussion. If what you enjoy most about full fidelity is cockpit management, then FC3 will disappoint. If what you enjoy most is flying and fighting, then it’ll be a good fit. My preference over the last 20 years has been the Russian airframes due to their different and refreshing approach to both flight and fight. But the US airframes have their attractions as well.

If I am to buy this, it will be about the American hardware. How much different is the Su-27 from Flanker 2.5?

You can buy standalone modules (F-15C, A-10A) then.

About Flanker, dude, it's been 20 years... everything is different: whole 3D model, whole 3D 6DOF cockpit, Professional Flight Model, sounds... I don't know what else went under the hood.
