Bob1943 Posted July 13, 2021 Posted July 13, 2021 Unable to find a setting to generate the towering thunderstorm (Cumulonimbus) clouds. I assume this cloud formation is not yet available? Are there any plans to introduce Cumulonimbus clouds in future updates? 3
Solution Flappie Posted July 13, 2021 Solution Posted July 13, 2021 The answer is yes. From April 9th newsletter: Quote If all goes well, DCS World Open Beta 2.7.0 should be launching on the 14th of April 2021 and will introduce the new Clouds and their large range of presets to choose from in the Mission Editor. We are also working on a Cloud generator capable of creating on-demand visual representations of much larger clouds such as towering cumulus and cumulonimbus. After the initial launch, we will continue the development of natural cloud cycles, severe weather behaviour, thunderstorms and fog. 7 ---
Lurker Posted July 13, 2021 Posted July 13, 2021 (edited) Let's hope that work on the weather doesn't go on the backburner, since it's some of the most, if not the most impressive I've yet seen in any simulator or game. Bob1943 Posted July 13, 2021 Author Posted July 13, 2021 Great! Looking forward to seeing the future cloud enhancements. They really bring a new level of realistic immersion to the flight simulation experience. 2

PLUTON Posted August 8, 2021 Posted August 8, 2021 I also hope that this will happen very quickly because DCS took a huge graphic value with the new clouds we are entering a new visual era. continue on your pitch and above all thank you to the whole team. 2

Skysurfer Posted August 11, 2021 Posted August 11, 2021 Yeah, I'm fine with presets for the time being as long as we can have the new fog and rain effects. Clouds moving with wind would also be quite nice. 4
