DishDoggie Posted August 15, 2021 Posted August 15, 2021 I hope the Powers that be model Damage from All Ordnance Explosions to be Real Life. I see a lot of people in videos Blowing up everything and flying through the Explosion like crazy. No damage and do it again. if the Mosquito model is allowed to fly in at 50 feet drop a Bomb blow up stuff and fly off undamaged I'll be very sad. I see Huey pilots doing this all the time with Rockets blowing up stuff just yards away flying through it all with no damage when in real life they would stay 500 yards away from the target when firing Rockets and Never fly through the Target area. It's time to fix this in DCS. I honestly don't know if this is a issue with other aircrafts or not but flying around like a John Wayne movie is cool but not real. If I blowup something closer then 900ft in front of me I deserve to have my Blast damage my dumb arss. Am I wrong about this? God knows I have been before about things. 4
razo+r Posted August 15, 2021 Posted August 15, 2021 At least bombs do damage aircraft in DCS when you fly too close to them. So it's already implemented. 3
xvii-Dietrich Posted August 26, 2021 Posted August 26, 2021 Bombs in DCS are somewhat arbitrary. There are some where aircraft are damaged by their own bomb blasts. Yet others have visual effects which are totally over the top, and yet the target remains undamaged (REF). This is also tied into the delayed fuse issue (REF). The ED team have hinted on Discord that they might look into the fuse issue, in which case we just need to wait-and-see if that results in improvements for the bomb damage too.
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted August 26, 2021 ED Team Posted August 26, 2021 delayed fuses are being worked on, but it is not tied to any aircraft, it is a core feature and will take time to implement and test. thanks 4 1 Forum rules - DCS Crashing? It's marked reported and I have said numerous times its being worked on, on Discord and elsewhere. Also as stated, bombs and effects need to be tweaked in some cases, the effect size can be misleading + or - of what the damage actually does, as well, our intent is also to do a complex fragmentation modelling in the future, but that's down the road a bit. 6 1 Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**

I appreciate this may take time Me too. No historic bomb fuse timers then no purchase. Happy landings, Talisman 2
No1sonuk Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 Yes, your own bombs DO damage you... The damage was so bad, the undercarriage collapsed on touchdown... 1
Nealius Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 In addition to delayed fusing we need standard fusing as well. I'm often finding my two 250lb bombs dropped from the bomb bay colliding into each other and bursting in mid-air.
