brettt777 Posted September 2, 2021 Posted September 2, 2021 (edited) The other day I was flying the F-14 and it seemed like the trim wasn't working. Today I was flying the F-5E and F-86 and the trim was definitely not working. The trim is assigned to the joystick hat on all three aircraft and I double checked the setting. I could see the trim switch on the stick in the cockpit move according to my switch input, but I got no trim action at all in any of those three aircraft. What am I missing? It use to work, now it doesnt. razo+r Posted September 2, 2021 Posted September 2, 2021 There seems to be a bug around making trim unusable. People tried to report it but due to MP tracks, the report was not really helpful and has been forgotten since...

Thing is, I then got in the F-16 and then the FA-18, and both of their trims work. So I tried the F-5 again, but had the same issue; my trim button is obviously working because it makes the trim button in the cockpit work. But for certain airplanes, it has no affect. Don't know why, it certainly use to work. I'm at a loss on this one. It has to have something to do with that latest update. That's the only thing that has changed. Art-J Posted September 3, 2021 Posted September 3, 2021 That used to happen in some DCS versions when the player had any FFB controller plugged in, even if it wasn't used for anything in DCS per se (for example - racing wheel, gamepad etc.). Do you have any? Maybe that old bug is back. 1 i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.

That's why I have hung on to this controller for so long cuz I want FFB, especially when I'm flying older aircraft. Why would you want to fly a Mustang or Spitfire without FFB? Anyway, weird that the trim works with some planes but not others. Thought it might be an issue with only older planes but the F-14 came out not long after the FA-18. I dunno, but I hope they can do something about it. silverdevil Posted September 11, 2021 Posted September 11, 2021 going out on a limb here. have you tried with the minimum amount of needed controllers? at one point if i remember FFB was a past issue. especially if there were several. also maybe used a power USB hub. FFB controllers use more power than non USB. Baltic Pirate Posted September 11, 2021 Posted September 11, 2021 I had the same problem just recently. L-39 and F-5. I had to remove and reassign key bindings. That fixed the problem.
