Dejmos Posted November 7, 2021 Posted November 7, 2021 Hello. Can someone explain to me why the laser-guided bombs with TGP miss the target? With JTAC there is no problem with hitting. Laser codes entered. regards

Solution Marklar Posted November 7, 2021 Solution Posted November 7, 2021 As other said arm laser and keep trigger depressed until impact. TGP in Viper is lasing only when you hold the trigger. It's not like in other planes where lasing is triggered automatically 10sec before impact or in manual mode you only need to press lasing once and it will lase for several seconds. i9 13900K; RTX 4090, 64GB RAM. Important to note that if this is the experience in DCS, it's not how it should be. There is an auto-lase setting you should be able to configure. As long as the laser is enabled it would lase within the x seconds setting you set. Is a feature of the SNIPER and older generation TGPs as well IIRC. Definitely should be working in a blk50 Edited November 15, 2021 by jstnj
Csgo GE oh yeah Posted November 22, 2021 Posted November 22, 2021 Wait what ? Isn't the laser only for calculating the exact best moment of dropping the bomb ? You have to keep lasering untill the bomb actually hits ??

And you don´t lase until around 15secs before impact so the bomb don´t loose kinetic energy. Csgo GE oh yeah Posted November 22, 2021 Posted November 22, 2021 wow LOL. I hardly ever to air-ground but this is still very bad
WarbossPetross Posted November 22, 2021 Posted November 22, 2021 And, say, if I want to create a markpoint while taking target elevation into account, should I press and hold trigger while I designate the markpoint and release it then?

I can say in the A10 using the laser will make it a bit more accurate but not much. Id assume it would be the same with the f16. The only time you really have to fire the laser for markpoint or GPS guided weapons is if you want to specifically hit the roof of a building or bridge

If you want a precision bomb without a laser then take a JDAM instead. 5 Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!
Csgo GE oh yeah Posted November 23, 2021 Posted November 23, 2021 I honestly thought all the laser did was to help calculate the exact drop moment ground stuff is hard 2

The issue is that you just can't fly precise enough to drop a bomb from high altitude, so that it hits a small target right on the head. Not even mentioning things like variable wind and. The only way to get this kind of accuracy is through active guidance untill the impact, either through laser homing, electro/optical guidance or INS/GPS guidance. With laser guidance (unlike INS/GPS guidance) you can even hit a moving target, even if it changes direction when the bomb is already released. Csgo GE oh yeah Posted November 23, 2021 Posted November 23, 2021 Yes now that i think about bombs hitting moving targets it makes sense.
Kilo Posted November 23, 2021 Posted November 23, 2021 (edited) Laser guided weapons, surprisingly, act like pets. They will follow the dot until impact. Edited November 23, 2021 by Kilo 2 Все буде добре
