I would like to have some controllable things added to the jets.  Can ED model the wheel spray generated when the plane is rolling on taxiways and runways during landings and take-offs?  What about allowing one or more plane tires to either run low or have blow outs?  Let's have the option to create Foreign Object Damage (FOD) that is on the airfield, which could get sucked into a jet's engine and cause lotsa problems.  What about adding snow removal equipment (snow plows/snow brooms/spreaders) to be used and controlled on active airfields when it is snowy and icy?  Add the option to have bird strikes or allow birds to be sucked into air intakes.

Your tires can blow out if you land too hard. And there are bird strikes to your engines…

I like the bird strikes to engine comment.  Great suggestion.

It can happen but it’s realistically rare.

Sorry, but I have to say that I don't like any of these ideas. DCS is, at it's heart, a combat simulator, and I don't see any of these random events adding anything to the gameplay. Wheel spray is just another thing to render and tax your system. Tire damage is already there. As for FOD or bird strikes, this is just something that's going to ruin your plans. I don't really fancy the idea of spending 10 or 15 minutes spooling up on the apron to have to abort the mission because of a pebble on the runway, or spend an hour weaving through terrain on the way to a target only to get splatted by a kamikaze goose.

That said, if ED decide to do it then all good. I just don't see this adding much to my enjoyment of the sim.

Bonus points if they allow us to put it in zones, like if we're flying over a 'nature preserve' and if we're flying below a certain altitude over that preserve we risk bird strikes.

Yes it is a combat SIMULATOR. Thats the reason why such small details are important

It is at least up for discussion yes, but honestly, there should be a priority order and this sim has much much bigger problems than this and these should probably tackled

first before adding on-top candy like that.

Well Bird Strikes are already there and tires can get blown up,

but why wheel spray? just another impact on performance that contributes only to better graphic detail and to minor amount of immersion and that's it.

There’s a slider of the bird possibility. Even left at 100% you can play for a decade without it happening. I had it happen and it was cool because I was able to do the engine failure procedure and land. 👍

Don’t try the warbirds then… ok, so birds won’t be a problem, but there’s plenty of other stuff that breaks engines with monotonous regularity

and yes, the frustration of a mission abort is offset by the satisfaction of getting the aircraft back on the ground in one(ish) piece😎
