A bit of work going into turrets right now, that's the first big "multicrew" bit being fully fleshed out atm. As you can see the 3d model and textures for the turrets are still being worked on. Multicrew wise there's some DCS core issues that we are battling but I'm sure we will find workarounds (that or you can write your local DCS community moderator to get us SDK access) but I'm going full throttle on multicrew. We may have larger update for you guys soon.

Thanks for the update @BrianTheBrain!

I know most of the real work lies under the hood, but she's really starting to look the part. Simply glorious.

On multicrew, are there plans for gameplay-useful bomb aimer/nav/flight engineer positions?

Well done team, nice little surprise update. Looking good too. 🙂

@NineLine, @BIGNEWY, any chance you can work something out with the team please? Now’s a good time to help em out. 🙂

We’re all gagging to jump in the Lanc and you can do your bit to help grease the wheels. Support the community, bring your metaphorical pots and pans.

Some parts of the navigator are *technically* complete, as there are things like the E6B which require literally only animations. But there are other systems there, and the goal is to have *every* crew slot be completely playable, and fun. From first hand experience, the bombardier position is very fun gameplay wise 🙂

Woop, thanks @BrianTheBrain, extra exciting!

If we take a position half-way between @Enigma89's 'DCS as a digitial historic aviation museum' and @Reflected'd 'DCS as a digitial historic experience simulator' then I think even the average user (and I am very average!) will get a lot from being to put themselves in these positions.

Someone famously used to play Silent Hunter 3 in real time, blogging their progress as daily logs, so for sure someone will want to sit in in VR on an uncomfy seat with the windows open and their buttkicker set to max continuous shaking them to bits for hours on end to experience life as a tail gunner...but I can't imagine many. However, a go at navigating, or post-damage engine and fuel management, or the final minute on the run into target leant over the bombsight will add so much to the value of this community Lanc from both perspectives. Thank you all, and well done.

Per ardua ad astra!

That someone is most definitely me! If we had world map, I'd definitely be ferrying freshly built Lanc III's from Canada to the war.

Will be displaying the lanc for a quick solo on the 22nd (tomorrow) at 14:15 CST (20:15 UTC) if you should happen to be about on the Virtual Snowbirds youtube channel

The ending should be worth watching 🙂

In other news, some work on the pilot model textures

That was an amazing show, very well done to all! Lest we forget.

Glad to hear of the progress, well done team 🙂.

For super-simulation we’ll need an air-con unit blowing ice cold air at us o course 🥶. Extra chilly if we’ve knocked out some perspex for better vision. Makes me shiver just thinking about it.

Can’t wait :pilotfly:

I’m hoping for some thought for the 40s with the German map. (Don’t say that with a mouthful of biscuits)

It’s no mystery where we’ll be flying to. Apart from training from our glorious OTU airfields, under bridges, bombing ranges etc. Gonna be fun. Bit of formation flying with escorts, smoke me a kipper, back for breakfast. :joystick::pilotfly:

lol, when fulda comes out ill try and make a campaign where half of the missions are just rtb through normandy. that would be fun.

Just watched this, it was great! Poor Dave is living my worst nightmare, im applying to OCS and it would kill me if i washed out of pilot training. Those Lancasters are beautiful, wish theyd have saved them all for us in the future 😛
