VR is good, but if I want to make or edit missions or test new setup/keybinds, and I want to do it on flatscreen for comfort or ease, I have to go into VR, unselect VR in settings and then restart it, and then go into settings again later on and restart DCS in VR. Can we just get 2 different exe? one that boots DCS in VR and one that boots in flatscreen?

As a more customisable (but also more work-heavy) variation of this, you can also use simlinks and the -w command line option to set up two different Saved Game\DCS directories, one for pancake and one for VR, where you very deliberately pick and choose which portions should be shared and which should not. So maybe the Config directory is unique, but the Input subdirectory is linked; the shader directories are specific, but things like missions and scripts and liveries are linked.

It requires a fair amount of command line work, but it lets you be very precise in what you want your setups to do (and not do) differently. But as others have suggested, the launcher is probably the most handy way of doing a lot of these things.

❧ ❧ Inside you are two wolves. One cannot land; the other shoots friendlies. You are a Goon. ❧ ❧

Or just download the Explorer add-in, and drag and drop.
I share a lot of Saved Games folders between stable and OB. And it works really well. So nice idea.

I cannot praise and recommend Skatezilla's updater/launcher enough.
Has a ton of other nifty features as well! emoji1303.png

This is no doubt the best way. Only one icon on your desktop for everything, various presets directly set without the need for a restart of the game, side loads other stuff when needed etc... just top notch !!

Lots of good solutions here. I tend to gravitate to the “least clicks” option, which is why I made DCS Shortcut Generator to have an exe on my desktop or toolbar for each unique flavor of DCS I want to use at the time.

Otherwise, the good ole force_disable_vr is the simplest and most effective solution that solves the issue.
