Hey everyone. Just downloaded this mod a bit ago. I have the TM HOTAS Warthog as I'm sure many of y'all do. How did you do your bindings for the eng/throttle? That two step throttle with Off/IGN/Run is throwing me for some reason and can't get it right. Ideally, I would have a momentary switch for start. Another momentary switch for IGN position. Then once spooling, advance the throttle for idle/run. Like I said, for some reason, that's throwing my brain for a loop and can't quite get it work how I want.

I only fly in VR but use the TM HOTAS as well.  To be honest, I request ground power, press the engine start button, and once it gets to the appropriate RPM, I just click the throttle with my mouse to move it into idle.  Seems to be the most efficient way I have found and saves some key binding. You can see my start up process below with what I am talking about.

Hi Folks,

Is it a problem at my end or is the ILS and Tacan with the carrier broken?

Thanks.

I will check it out later today.  Need to do another test run on our server so I will see as well.

TACAN currently doesn't seem to work with a 'Beacon TACAN Portable TTS 3030' unit either. A mission I made some time back using this was working fine earlier, but now it doesn't seem to produce any response at all - no sound, no response on the BDHI needle, nothing.

Regarding the TACAN, I've not seen it mentioned here but it has been discussed on the A4E Discord page. Apparently a recent DCS update broke it. There is a replacement LUA file published on the Github page which fixed it for me.

In the A-4E-C/Cockpit/Scripts/Systems/ folder. Just overwrite the one that is in there.

Another great time with the guys testing the "old" fog on our Vietnam map.  The map is almost ready for an updated release.

Need to get the updated LUA file for the TACAN.  Disregard the comment in the video for now.  I will try the LUA file suggested above.

The guys I fly with and I have been working hard on a Vietnam style Coop mission over the Marianas.  We have included the A-4, Cayuse mod, Bronco mod, then all 3rd party and ED modules that fit the time period.  We have made the mission with the intent of coop/multiplayer in mind but works great solo.  All enemies randomly spawn randomly over Southern Guam with customs FARPs spread throughout the jungle utilizing ED assets and 8 Balls Vietnam asset pack.  We are aiming to get the FARPs as close to Vietnam as possible.  We have also been reworking Anderson AFB to look closer to a Vietnamese airfield.  This has not gotten old and we have been adding to it and working it over for months.  About to release the updated version to include CSAR scripted mission, including when players bail out.  You can jump in a Cayuse or Huey and go pick the pilots up.  We have scripted bailouts during set periods of the mission so you can go try it solo if no one is on.  I have a lot of videos on my channel talking about where we are at and where we are going with it.  Eventually we are going to start the second half of this project and create a separate mission on the same map only up in Tinian and Saipan. Main reason is to keep resources low for lower end machines.  We will still have birds out of Anderson and off the Carrier.  We will SEAD operation up there, CAS, ect....  More to come.  About to post a Cayuse video from this past Thursday.  I jumped in the Cayuse after I landed the A-4.

Awesome!

I taught there was a Vietnam map on the horizon, anyway.

But your team job looks very interesting!!

There is 100% Cannot come fast enough, but until them we must use our imagination with the Marianas.  It does the trick for now.  With ED doing the entire country of Afghanistan and Iraq, I hope this is the case with Vietnam where they also include some of the surrounding countries for conflicts that happened in the early years right up until the end.  There were some interesting French aircraft that took place in the early days, but did not do much and were not too successful after China started supporting North Vietnam.

The Mariana Islands are too small for Vietnam. I use the Caucasus map for this. Of course, it's not very convenient, but for now it's like that. There was once a good mod for version 1.5, it added jungles and textures to the Caucasus map. Unfortunately, it hasn't worked for a long time.

And gentlemen, can anyone tell me? Which US aircraft carriers were part of Dixie Station at different times? I can't find any detailed information anywhere.

@Devil 505 Can you write where to download your missions from Vietnam?

It isn't available yet.  When we do upload there will be an announcement thread with link to download in ED files.

Hey @Phantom11!

This website:

https://www.navysite.de/

has a history of any US Navy ship that ever existed (at least in modern times). You will find all of the carriers and the cruise books of many (I'm afraid not all of them) of their cruises, included the combat cruises in Vietnam.

It's not going to be easy, you'll have to read a lot, but you should be able to find many data on what carrier served in Dixie Station and when. In general, the carriers rotated between Yankee and Dixie Station, so they were not permanently assigned to the one or the other and, according to Wikipedia, Dixie station operated until 1966, when enough aircraft were land based in South Vietnam to carry on the operations in that nation.
