Community A-4E-C v2.3 (May 2025)

Hi,

I just re-installed this mod after some time. I am currently not able to get the ground crew to rearm / re-fuel my bird.

I can make the call but the crew is not responding / acting. Is that maybe a "normal" behavior?

Any ideas are appreciated!

BEWARE!!! I got myself a couple of modules and Nevada back in 2016. Had a hiatus from mid 2017 to mid 2019, and the free A-4E-C and free MB-339 were released. I gather ED is thankful for these teams, because now I have everything!!! You're warned.

I figured out why I had so much trouble with my steering going towards the bow: The wind speed, once it passes 10 knots (+27 ship speed), pushes on the rudder enough to put the nosewheel into the wind once the brakes come off. At 15 (+27 ship speed) knots the effect is almost instant. I always had the ship going into the wind, which is why I didn't notice it sooner.

Edit: And yes, that's way too fast. I should have been aiming for 30 knots total, right? Or does the Skyhawk want another windspeed for launch?

I think your reasoning is correct. I land on the carrier and I can handle the front wheel, whereas in takeoff I have enormous difficulty getting on the catapult. Thank you!

Yeah, from what I know they usually aim for 30 knots total down the deck; I don't think the A-4 needs more. All AFAIK and IMO, of course.

I downloaded the A-4E, installed in proper place but does not appear on the menu, maybe is a problem with today's patch?

Tested, works for me.

Just checked when I saw your message to see if the patch caused any problem. A-4 is showing up fine, so must be an install issue. If you're using standalone DCS the location is different if you are using open beta or stable.

I'm on beta, have other mods installed that work fine, but the A-4E refuse to show up.

Have you ever installed it before? If yes, could it be disabled in the module manager? 

Just to make sure, could you show a screenshot of where you did install it? 

What does the DCS log say?

Have you installed the A4 in User/Your Name/Saved Games/DCS/Mods/aircraft/A-4E-C ? If yes it must be working.

Hello, I have the same mistake that JFCshloss related in page 15 on this thread.

I installed the 2.7.16 DCS version and 2.01 version of Community A-4E-C. I haven't mods installed.

If i lower my camera any further down screen goes black. I can only see that part of the instrumentation and not the rest of the cockpit located further down. I can see right, left or up views, but I can't look the central cockpit view because screen goes black.

 

Please, can somebody help me?

You have to install the module in this folder :( Users/Users/Games Saved/DCS/Mods/aircraft/A-4E-C ). If the module doesn't work it most likely conflicts with some other mod made by a third party; with DCS modules it doesn't give problems. Try just putting the A4 in the folder I indicated and see what happens. Hi.

Six years on No. 75 SQN RNZAF- you and your team have done a spectacular job, thank you so much. 

I've been doing DIY modding for many years now off and on, any chance I could add to it if possible?  I'm thinking the Kahu cockpit would bring back even more memories!  Then maybe the AGM-65 and AIM-9L.

@Calabrone I already had the A4 module installed in this folder. I haven´t no mods, (no third party and no DCS modules). I don´t know what is the problem.
