Cant seem to get this working.   Here's my gameplay settings, in case there's something there stopping it.

It may very well be restricted by the mission, not your settings (which look alright)

Thanks...

Missions are my own simple, couple of AC couple of enemy vehicles, and canned from DCS. Same result.

Happens with/without TIR/opentrack loaded / With / without VR loaded.   (TIR and Open track don't use F6.

As you can see in the image, key binding has not been changed.

Hmmm.. Under the MISC Tab do you have PLAYER or SPECTATOR EXTERNAL VIEWS on?

BTW, can you use any of the other F commands (like F2 to see your external view?)

could  try this  if it  helps  delete  the  f6  key  view  and  than re  assign it  back again , if  it  doesnt  work  than  could  be  the  f6  key is  not  working  depending  if  its  working  for  other  aircraft

Still not solved this issue, and reluctant to do a full reinstall.

Any more suggestions welcome.

Simply rename your "Saved Games/DCS..." to "DCS_backup" or any other distinctive name, and keep it as a backup, then launch DCS:

  • If it works: you'll need to copy from the backup folder into the newly created folder.
  • If it doesn't work, well at least, you'd have tried: rename the new folder to "DCS_betterlucknexttime" (or anything other name) and rename your backup folder to its original name.

Great idea.

Yes got it working by creating the new saved games folder, and now copying back in the stuff I need. Have not found the offending file/files, but not that important actually.

The F6 view is really fun in VR.
