"Say your needles" "On and On" - but GS isn't

During a CASE III, when Approach says "Say your needles", pilot's response is always "On and on", even if glideslope is way high, which would mean he should say rather "Fly up, on". Moreover, Approach then even says "Concur".

Comms also say "fly Mode x" which is also an ACLS thing, isn't it?

I'm really baffled by the comms we get...they don't seem to match real-world comms or what we're actually doing.

I completely agree.

At first glance, the new carrier ATC seemed great, but it very quickly became obvious it was just a simple set of trigger activated voice comms. If you hit the triggers as designed, it all appears to work, but if for some reason you don’t, it can easily fall apart. Beyond these preset triggers, ATC doesn’t really exist; it has no idea where you are or what you’re doing. There is absolutely no “control” aspect to it at all.

All if this doesn’t even mention the at times confused and inaccurate, comms and procedures.

Well they do give you sensible commence times during case III to deconflict you properly with AI aircraft. I had a nice caseIII recovery with me in between AIs and we all had proper spacing (that obviosly only works if you make your commence time) . The needles call was always accurate for me (e.g. if I was too far of center my pilot would make the according call), just as the FB and distance calls.

I'm not sure what people expect from CATC. Its not there to hold your hand during c3. It does what its supposed to: (simple) deconfliction with traffic and landing information. Proper bolter comms with approach telling you when to turn final is missing though, hope that gets added sometime since its crucial (and not easy to model) to case3 ops.
