I have to agree with all the above. As a naval helicopter pilot with my main experience being Atlantic and Mediterranean, sea state was an essential element of Met briefings. If the concept of 7th wave is a large one (with 3rd to 4th the moment to choose when landing) this would be a huge bonus.  

A quick and dirty relationship is that the sea state is approximately 1 level below the Wind Beaufort scale. Ie Wind force 6 = Sea state 5.  

Actually, there tends to be two wave cycles, 7 and 41, sometimes from different directions.

Would be nice to set bigger waves both for visual effect and carrier operations.

If one day, we have modules like KA-27 for anti submarine warfare, the sea level must be change the noise for Sonar, so it will be an indispensable feature.
I know, it is not actual, but Maybe one day if ED developed naval warfare (My bigest dream in this game ^^)

While we wait for these kinds of features (which may never arrive, I know), a variable wave setting will at least allow for more interesting boat landings.

And last but not least : lua function to change dynamicaly the sea level (like the fog function). This will allow the weather to deteriorate, and the sea to swell.

Stuff like this comes with the module development itself, not earlier for nothing to actually use.

There is a lot more improvements to be done on the weather front, including sea states that are impactful to all modules.

I totally agree that we don't have to develop that yet (without fonctionnality).
I just make a note that "IF ONE DAY" (I put that in bold 😉 )we have those type of module, state of water will have another fonctionnality for noise with the sonar.

I think it will be pretty easy to code.
Actually, state of water is linked to wind (direction+force), so, developper have just to broke this link and add button in the editor to complete this missing variables.

Yeah, I know. And that's why I ask. This thread even has a star when you look at the list of threads. Does anyone know what that star means? Or is it as simple as I'm subbed to it?

Understood. Also that could be read as in: ''better get that feature developed already if one day we get a _____...''
