Monstertech sells one, pricetag could easily put you off.
I bought one from this guy from Hungary, he sells through Facebook mostly.
Simple Simpit
https://www.facebook.com/SIMpleSIMpit/?tn-str=k*F
he also builds Mig-29 sticks, rudder pedals... high quality builds.

If I had the room I would get a car chair set up.

A local handy person or carpenter can make the base:

Examples:

https://www.polygon.com/guides/2020/7/1/21300566/how-to-build-a-flight-simulator-racing-cockpit-homemade-diy-rig-frame-chair-setup

Any competent wood worker should be able to look at these various setups and cobble something together.

https://www.racedepartment.com/threads/mobile-driving-flying-cockpit-with-motion-and-tactile-build.165289/

This is a racing rig, but it should provide ideas:

U shaped foam cushion. Plenty of others.

https://www.amazon.ca/Posture-Pro-Health-Chair-Cushion/dp/B09KCQYJDF/ref=sr_1_61?keywords=Foam+Cushion&qid=1658785131&sr=8-61

Not sure how to cut the  metal frame of the chair and then re weld though.

Plywood and 2x4's are pretty much all I used. SketchUp is a free 3D modeling software that made designing this feasible.

That is a very nice setup Hector.

The center cushion is much better than what I posted from the online reseller.

I wonder if using a car chair would interfere with VR HMD?  Trying to turn around and having that bit of the chair right at the back of your head/neck. hmm.

Im all for buying a cheap bucket seat and nailing it to some 2x4 for the Crosswinds to sit on, but I just looked at the yawvr kickstarter, which looks really good.

Costs the same as a next gen gfx card. The tech is looking so good for the future in this field.

Thanks! Yeah I was worried about my headrest interfering with my headset which is why I didn't incorporate one in my design.

old cars usually have the chance to dettach the headrest. also worth mentioning, if going to a car junkyard, look for co-driver seats, much less mileage on them!

I have the Monstertech MFC-1. But only because it is also a great office chair. I needed this dual use so it was worth the price. If one wants to built a dedicated Flight Sim Setup without that office use, I would not go for the expensive Monstertech chair

I only fool around the F-14 - and still having a hard time on it as there is so much to learn and so little time and talent. But I love it.

Build your own ACES II-Ejection-seat:

My seat built 2004 with some real parts after plans of Martin "Pegasus".

I'm going through this as well. I used a Jeep seat, but now I am noticing that I am unable to rotate in VR all the way around. The seat is reclined the same as my jeep, but I'm wondering if I should lean it forward some to help me see behind me better?

Hey Hector, after hunting around on the intrawebs for a simpit chair solution, yours is by far the best I’ve seen. I don’t suppose you still have the sketch up file & would be happy to share them?

cheers

Greacey
