Agree with late Q4 being what I expect, unless HB has learned no lessons on tempering their own release dates, or forbid just lying through their teeth at us.

My pessimistic view is Q1 next year. Really think they've got it well in hand.

I didn't get it at all. Waiting for a 50% sale and more money in the bank. Fortunately it wasn't a high priority purchase, unlike the Phantom. As far as the F1 goes, I'm perfectly happy shooting it down in dogfights for the time being. I generally do like assisting devs with finding bugs and so on, but I don't have to be part of every single EA phase.

I really was waiting for the F1 for a long time, and no regrets as I am enjoying it as much as I expected but the price was super steep with little to no regional adjustment on Steam. Only Apache and F1 seemed to be significantly more expensive than the rest for me. But if it keep being this way I too will only get "I really, reaaally want to get this" modules, leave "yeah I kinda want it" ones. I'll get the F-4 when it comes, but may sit out F-15E as well as Kiowa (assuming the latter ever comes ), and will see how it goes with F4U and MB339.

I think there should be even more. Not too long ago, there was information that 8 more employees had recently been hired. I don't know how many employees they had before but I think it was more than two. Plus freelancers and part-timers I think.
It would be interesting to know how many people work at HB.

TL;DR of the Phantom notes I took away:
We're getting the non-DMAS version first at EA

No CURRENT plans for anything past the navy phantom, direct attack against the F-4G, they would have to model so much stuff for it to work.

No mention of release date, or changes to release date

I wouldn't bet on it. I'd anticipate early '23.

With the recent reddit thing, I think it's prolly gonna be pushed back, but the problem is that with how they've been doing this so far, we'll never know until "IT'S READY HERE'S THE RELEASE DATE"

It might be delayed a few months into 23 but I keep my fingers crossed for a late Q4 22 release. I have literally saved a few vacation days from my job to use when it's released

Still hope for a 2022 release but I think it's pretty optimistic. My bet is before next summer, something like June 2023 at its latest.

Agreed, with any luck that'll be our latest, but of course if heatblur pulls a miracle and gets us our 22 phantom it'll be a time to rejoice.

They claim that they are behind schedule but still on track for 22 release.  So lets be patient and pray to God, Allah, Odin, Zevs, Kevin Becon and all things holy that it happens

I’m vaguely reminded of the Viggen. I don’t know how delayed that was, if at all, but I very distinctly remember there was very little news and then suddenly boom, plenty of media and the jet was released very shortly thereafter. Cobra seems pretty confident they’ll have it out this year, in spite of delays, so I remain cautiously optimistic, in spite of my scepticism
