Dannyvandelft Posted September 7, 2022 Posted September 7, 2022 Found this while trying to find the Tomcat Hot Pit procedure. The F-14D NATOPS. 2 weeks? https://info.publicintelligence.net/F14AAD-1.pdf Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
RaisedByWolves Posted September 7, 2022 Posted September 7, 2022 Possible to get a summary? It’s over 1000 pages.
scommander2 Posted September 7, 2022 Posted September 7, 2022 Is it about F-14D? Spoiler Dell XPS 9730, i9-13900H, DDR5 64GB, Discrete GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080, 1+2TB M.2 SSD | Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS + TPR | TKIR5/TrackClipPro | Total Controls Multi-Function Button Box | Win 11 Pro
NeedzWD40 Posted September 7, 2022 Posted September 7, 2022 (edited) It's distro C thus not open source. I'd kill that link ASAP. Also, the NATOPS -1 isn't the issue for the D. Edited September 7, 2022 by NeedzWD40
Spurts Posted September 7, 2022 Posted September 7, 2022 (edited) I recall a statement from ED years ago that a -1 is 5% of what they need to make a module. That -1 has been around for ages. Edited September 7, 2022 by Spurts

Every NATOPS is Distro C, but not all appear restricted. Former RIO Ward Caroll says all white-cover NATOPS are not restricted (I think it was the yellow covers that he said were). With all the holes in the DCS-specific manuals it's kind of funny we would have to rely on documents we aren't supposed to have to know about certain features or limitations modeled in our sim. To be fair, this stuff is so muddy not even the SMEs know what is or isn't restricted/classed, so I can see why ED implemented a "statute of limitations" of sorts on posting docs after a certain time period. near_blind Posted September 7, 2022 Posted September 7, 2022 Multiple iterations of the -1 are out there floating about, but it's not enough to actually make a module

Silverphinex Posted September 7, 2022 Posted September 7, 2022 yea this Nattops is missing chapters 24 thru 36 which is all the cool stuff that we are not allowed to have
NeedzWD40 Posted September 7, 2022 Posted September 7, 2022 6 hours ago, Nealius said: Every NATOPS is Distro C, but not all appear restricted. if it's not Distribution A, then it is restricted information. Says right there on the tin: Quote DISTRIBUTION STATEMENT C Distribution authorized to U.S. Government Agencies and their contractors to protect publications required for official use or for administrative or operational purposes only (1 January 1991). ... DESTRUCTION NOTICE For unclassified, limited documents, destroy by any method that will prevent disclosure of contents or reconstruction of the document. The assumption folks make is that unclassified == unrestricted, free for all, open source. That isn't the way it works, even though we'd like it to. For example, "UNCLASSIFIED, FOUO" means it's unclassified, but the document is for official use only and thus restricted. Same issue with the PTID and Sparrowhawk upgrades.
Jayhawk1971 Posted September 7, 2022 Posted September 7, 2022 The only way I'm ever going to accept a D model is if it comes with triple glove vanes....stacked, perpendicular, of course.
RustBelt Posted September 7, 2022 Posted September 7, 2022 For relaxing times, make it glove vane times. 1
