obious Posted September 11, 2022 Posted September 11, 2022 I saw back in Feb this year that the S3 Viking is being remodelled which is great but I have a question regarding the in-flight refuelling. Currently, the hose and basket animations are are somewhat 'fixed' (ie there's no rag-doll like physics behind them). Will we see more realistic physics (again, the best way I can describe it is rag-doll like) with the remodel or is this purely a re-skinning affair? Thanks! 2 Intel 12900k @ 5.2Ghz, RTX 4090, Samsung 1TB NVME, Thrustmaster Warthog & F-18 stick, Pendular Rudder Pedals - Quest Pro AV8B N/A UFC Build Log AV8B N/A PCBs for sale
REDEYE_CVW-66 Posted September 11, 2022 Posted September 11, 2022 I would temper my expectations for new animations. Also, it is impossible to tell when it will be released. Sometimes they show this stuff in newsletters and the model does not make it into the game for years. That said, I am very happy that they are redoing older models- glacial pace or not. 1
Gamja Field Posted September 23, 2022 Posted September 23, 2022 Ragdoll simulation will cost you another 10fps. Just kidding. but yeah it'd be a great addition, since BMS got their new physics update recently... why not in DCS? 2

Can't find the exact post right this instant, but I'm pretty sure that ED (Bignewy iirc) stated that basket physics improvements are being worked on. Dragon1-1 Posted September 26, 2022 Posted September 26, 2022 Well, the Herc is being worked on, and that will likely include refueling physics, given that it'll achieve a number of firsts in that area, as far as DCS goes. In fact, it'll likely be the testbed for the new AAR features. 1
ED Team Solution NineLine Posted September 26, 2022 ED Team Solution Posted September 26, 2022 This is a task we hope to start soon for both AAR and ALE-50. Thanks. 5 4 Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**

Awesome, thats really good to hear and will transform the AAR experience. Do you happen to also know if those physics will be applied to carrier arresting wires? 2 Intel 12900k @ 5.2Ghz, RTX 4090, Samsung 1TB NVME, Thrustmaster Warthog & F-18 stick, Pendular Rudder Pedals - Quest Pro AV8B N/A UFC Build Log AV8B N/A PCBs for sale
