Hi Guys,

Just wondering if any one out there uses this little program it's called nHancer and is designed for those using Nvidia graphic cards. When using this you can tweak up the game graphics etc IE get rid of those nasty jaggies you see on the edges of building etc. I am in the process in doing a profile for BS. If anyone has got a profile could you give me any tips etc. Timm

nasty jaggies?

looks great here.

I think he is reffering to switching AA on. In which case there is no need to use nHancer as the NVidia control panel allows you to set AA/AF etc.

That is probably the best tool for nvidia cards. It can change the profiles used for every game and enhance the modes of AF and AA by the supported but not selectable in the nvidia desktop tool.

Hi Guys,

I used when flying in MS Flightsim 9 and what a difference it made. made everything much sharper. So I'm just asking if anyone else has used this program to enhance the graphics within this game. Timm

nvidia control panel is okay, but nHancer is much nicer, I have been using it for quite sometime now. It allows tweeking SLI a little better than other programs, and you can switch on the SLI balancing graph and see how your set up runs in game by looking at the graph. For Lock On don't enable any of the OpenGL stuff, make sure you check "Profile can be started manually"check box. Also look in the Tools tab for "Activate Profile" and make sure Lock On is activated, any other profile you check off the enable manually check box will be named in that window too, you can make sure that profile is active before you launch the game. It's supposed to be automatic when the exe is started, but I don't leave anything to chance.

Nope but I use RivaTuner which is basically the same thing.

I use to use RivaTuner ... but this seems more user friendly. Profiles and settings are appreciated. Would the LockON profile be a good jump-off point?

.

*** Edit ***

Tried using the LockON profile w/ BS and it made the sky flicker real bad. Gained about 5 FPS but couldn't take the flickering.

Found an interesting setting at SimForums.com.

http://www.simforums.com/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=27540&KW=strange+graphics+problems

Pictures to make it easy too. I lost about 5 FPS from the settings but MAN ... it was worth it. The exhaust outta the KA is amazing. Never noticed it before. The cockpit windows look more realistic, the rotors don't look as hoaky, and the overall Antialiasing effects make it look great.

Hi Bud,

Did you use the same as those shots, or have you changed anything ? Timm

Same as the screens you see there. I just got done taking some nice screens with those settings. Really nice. I'll post later.

I noticed the ABRIS and the gauges look clearer now too. The gamma is set a little lower then I might set it manually, but no big deal.

Hi Lionpride,

Just done the same config as the screenies and I must say the cockpit is much sharper. The last shot is me just getting ready to head of to the range for some target practice, I changed the two Hinds for a couple of Blacksharks which gives it a nice touch. Thanks for sharing.Timm

As you can see in the screens ... there's a place to 'point' to the DCS.exe file. I'm using the one shown for FSX and just added the DCS.exe to that list. Then use those screen-shots to make the rest of the settings.

I'm sure there's some tweaking that could be done, but this was the best base I could find to start with.

Glad to finally be helpful here ...

I think NickN´s profile for nHancer is your best bet. I´ll be setting up my nHancer in accordance with the recommended profile for FSX, http://www.simforums.com/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=29041 there are screenies of his setup, not the newest edition of nHancer used, but shouldn´t be an issue. Have used his profile for FSX until recently where I went to win 7 64 bit, so I´m excited to see the effect. No need to uninstall nvidia control panel, nHancer will override.

I have a ASUS 8800GT 512MB and I just noticed that

as soon I get IN the cloud (Georgian Oil War - start - @ 900meters) my framerate drops more than 1/2

from a nice 35-40 to 15-17 fps and stutters a bit

just below the cloud averything is OK

anything this is related to? would it be my 'modest' 512MB

do newer cards dont have this problem

my guess is, it's a rendering problem,

would it be typical to this card or driver or is there a setting or fix?

anyone has advice on this? thx

running BS 1920x1200 with Nhancer AA4xS ans Filter 4x, seems low to me, picture looks A-OK

I don't know why, but when I use the exact same settings in nVidia control panel and the same in nHancer, when the nHancer profile is activated it is noticibly better than when I use nVida CP. Not huge but I see a difference.

Got some shimmering from Nickn´s profile. Will probably revert to default profile provided by nHancer

With my GTX280 never had the need so far for nHancer. So no I don't use it.
