Loading the Syrian map operation Foothold (from user files) my GUI flashes and glitches out then DCS crashes to desktop every time. Anyone have a clue what the deal is?  Here's a video of the issue

Hi.

I've got The exact same Problem with The exact same Mission.

I'm running an AMD Ryzen 5 5600x and Radeon 6900xt.

It loads o.k. then start flickering and ctd at The end...

Hi Eagle-Dynamics Team.

Since yesterday I encounter DCS crashes from the mission-editor. Before the game crashes the ME starts to flicker pretty crazy, DCS gets really slow and after all crashes to desktop, some times with and sometimes without collecting aditional data.

I'm running an AMD Ryzen 5 5600x on an ASRock B450m-Pro4 with 32gb of ram and an Radeon RX6900XT and a tripple monitor-setup (crash occurs as well in single monitor setup).

I removed all mods and repaired DCS and deleted the mission_editor folder from my saved games. Still the same problem.

I hope you have an answer for me, because this is pretty new and has never happened before.

Cheers,

Paul.

Hi. Does it look exactly like this?

Yes, exactly. First normal ME view, then it starts to flicker pretty crazy, DCS does not really respond anymore, then it is directly ctd and mostly even without the collection of data because DCS is already gone from the taskmanager.

Honestly, I did only try to load the Syria Map (may be by circumstance, or because I like the map a lot...)and it has been pretty big missions with lots and lots of triggers and objects and groupes.

Ok, thanks. A mod will soon merge both threads.

It looks like it's happening while zooming in/out. Do you confirm?

Can you please attach one of the mission files causing this crash?

It happened tha last time, when I was taking a look at the load-out of a jet and (tried) to edit it.
Just tried again and some Syria-Missions did not make the ME crash (smaller ones) and the really big Foothold-Mission once again produced the same ctd. Caucasus, NTTR, PersianGulf seem to be o.k. even with bigger missions.

Here are my newest crash-files in the hopes, they may shed some light on the problem at hand.

Btw. thanks for you help @Flappie

Cheers,

Paul.

This is the one big mission that is causing the problems right now.

Foothold_Syria.zip

This one had a few ctd yesterday as well. Today it went o.k. without ctd, so it seems to be on the brink of working.

It's happening to me a lot. With or without mods. It's making the Editor pretty unusable... Hopefully it will be fixed soon

So we have :

Do you have any 6800/6900 specific option turned on in your GPU control panel? Or do you use a dedicated software for better GPU performance? We need to find what you all have in common apart form the GPU.

I've just found this thread. It's happening to me also. I haven't got a track to upload, I'm away from home at the moment, but specifically it's when I open a multiplayer track to edit so I can enable external views, it crashes to desktop when trying to load the file.

I can replay some older tracks, it only seems to be happening with new tracks, possibly since 2.8 but I'm not sure.

And I'm using an AMD 6900XT also.

Good Afternoon Team/Pilots!,

AMD Has rewritten their DX11 Rendering Driver a few times the last few months. (not always for the better either).

May try to downgrade drivers.

I have this exact crash.

I dont even have to do anything in the ME, if i just load it and the glitches start. I dont touch anything it crashes.

i9 11900K
6950 XT
32GB 3200 Corsair Vengeance

Im on driver 22.11.2.

Any working fix yet?

EDIT:

I notice that when i load in missions with a lot of stuff in it including navpoints, a lot of static/ground units, client slots etc it will crash. I can load the same mission for example without a lot of those assets. Havent narrowed down yet what exactly causes the crash.

Ran a slow repair, deleted my metashaders and fxo folders, rolled back and tried 2 previous driver versions. none of that does anything.
