I had to uninstall and re-install DCS twice, but now I cannot start the sim. When I double click the icon i receive the following messages:

Can someone help me?   It's a plain vanilla install.

you could try to reinstall the visual c++ runtime, which us used by dcs:

also, check the windows event logs to make sure there are no disk errors.

I did remove all the traces of the previous install. I'm going to re install the visual c++ runtime to see if that works.

Where do I check the windows event logs??

Ok, I googled it and found the event logs, but I don't know how to find the necessary information in the event logs.

have look here.

https://www.dummies.com/article/technology/computers/operating-systems/windows/windows-10/how-to-use-event-viewer-in-windows-10-140899/

normally one would look at application events first in this case, then system.

Unfortunately my Windows is in spanish, but I check Windows Logs here:

Windows logs lots of unimportant items, so use the filter shown to see only errors. You can also filter by "Origin" to check for "Disk" errors, a healthy disk should have no messages from "Disk"
