fastfed Posted February 12, 2023 Posted February 12, 2023 Curious if anyone knows what up here. Both systems are 5900x CPU 32GB ram 7900 XTX GPU Both running on main drive using SSD Even running the same monitor, null His GPU usage is low, like 40-70% with bad frames. Mine is 90-100% usage and great frames. I tried having him do a clean and delete the multiplayer folder and the other folder (forgot the name) Still no change. What in the world could it be?
firefox121 Posted February 12, 2023 Posted February 12, 2023 maybe is a bios issue, are the processor speeds and the memory speeds the same in both computers? are the processor parameters equal in both bios?, and even are the vsync options in the gpu the same? There are a lot of params that can make a worse experience running DCS Intel i9 10850k - MSI Tomahawk 490z - 64 GB DDR4 3000 - HP Reverb G2 - MSI optix Mag321curv 4k monitor - MSI RTX 3080ti - Winwing Orion Throttle base plus F18 stick
fastfed Posted February 12, 2023 Author Posted February 12, 2023 The only difference is the motherboards. Our settings in the GPU are the same, are OC for both GPU and CPU are the same, but his board is different. I cannot think that the motherboard difference is the issue though, just seems VERY strange

Limaro Posted February 16, 2023 Posted February 16, 2023 I guess you are flying the same version and the same module? This may have a great influence. If yes, for comparison and optiomization check the following things: 1. Compare your grafic settings. Maybe in Adrenalin (AMD Graphic Driver) one of you have different settings. I could imagine, one of you have FreeSync or VSync. That's not bad in generally, but would explain different results in frames and gpu load. This is my top guess about this issue. a. Also check that you run the same Adrenalin version. Btw. Using the very latest 23.2.1, I am getting 2-4% more fps. 2. For the energy management, go to control panel, there to the power management. Check you run on highest power. a. You can also hit windows key, type "power management". b. Select high power (something like that, dont know how it's in english windows) c. Change the plan, then again to extended settings d. In this window check that CPU performance is set to 100% 3. Deactivate the gaming mode. Open settings, search for gaming, there you can deactivate it. 4. Try without scripts by renaming C:\Users\<user>\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Scripts Windows 11 Pro 64Bit - AMD Ryzen 5800X3D - AMD 6900 XT - 64 GB RAM VPC MongoosT-50CM2 Throttle, VPC WarBRD Base, VPC MongoosT-50CM2 Grip
Hiob Posted February 16, 2023 Posted February 16, 2023 My bet is, one has enabled v-sync. So double-checking the gfx settings, both in game and for the gpu, would be my first step. "Muß ich denn jedes Mal, wenn ich sauge oder saugblase den Schlauchstecker in die Schlauchnut schieben?"
