First off, thanks for your patience @slughead most appreciated.

I hope i got everything there. Ive tried my Iphone and it does charge from both USB C ports. The link cable is not charging the base station, last night I played for 3 hours before I was told to charge it (was 20%).

I did get quad view to work last night, but for some reason it isnt working this morning. Haven’t changed anything, just booted up DCS. Eye tracking was still enabled.

Do you try to use Link cable to charge base station on which you put headset and controllers?

Link Cable should be used only to connect the headset to PC, and then it should charge your unit.

Default USB-C cable from QP box is for charging base station, not for connecting to PC.

We were just checking to see if the usb ports would charge stuff. 🙂

ive always had it at x2 with my G2, i was under the impression the added performance boost of the QP allowed for 4x, am i wrong again? 😉

Ok. That's a good baseline.

OTT is very out of date and doesn't know about some of the improved updated options. I do use it though but only to set per-game preferences or settings that do not persist in the ODT.

Everything in the link section of the OTT is persistent. Everything above that isn't. The only thing I use the OTT for is to set the runtime priority of the executables and to reduce the FOV to 0.85 (the performance boost is quite good and the reduction of FOV is barely noticeable.

I leave the default settings in the OT as default and make changes in "Profiles" only. My DCS profile settings are shown in the screenshot.

My OTT Quest Link settings are also shown in a screenshot. Maybe the "Delete" button will reset the OTT Quest Link settings to the OTT default (i.e. not set).

Try turning down the render resolution until you notice artefacts in cockpit displays. Then increase until they are gone. Raising it any higher isn't going to gain you anything but the reduction of frame times. Then try the quad-view foveated rendering. It will sharpen up the area of focus a bit but it's not going to be a magic bullet. I use a USB foot pedal and map it to the VR zoom feature for when I really need to read the MFDs more clearly in the F-16. I actually use two, 3-pedal USB pedals to give a multitude of controls such as VR Center, Zoom, kneepad controls, joystick modifiers, etc.

I'll be frank with you.... mostly the default settings in the ODT/Oculus are sufficient.

Next, sort out your charging problem. Have you tried another USB-C to USB-C cable? Even a short one just to see if it can charge from it. Have you tried the dock cable directly to the headset or from the PC to the headset? I don't know if carries data or is just a power cable but it should tell you if your link cable is faulty.

Ok, ive done all of that and got quad view running, and yeah man it looks good! though i did up the quad view pd a bit, I can see that from a visual/performance stand point it's just the usual fine tuning now.

But yeah, the charging problem. (dun dun dah!) Alas, if i cant sort that all is for naught. cue violins.

So the QP will charge from the USB C port with the charging lead but not the link cable, also i can charge my phone from the USB C port. So the ports are prepared to hand over some power, just not through the link cable.

again, massive thanks.

oh one more minor thing, in quad view i can just make out the box moving about with my eyes, but only in the left lens, the right lens is completely seamless. normal? i have bloom etc off.

MSAAx4 is no problem for the Quest Pro with Quad-View. Without quad-view, stick to x2. Or if you need some extra frame-time boost, then use x2. I use x4.

Sounds like you probably should return the cable and get another.

Quad-view rectangle - yeah, that's one of the compromises to accept for the performance gains. This is something that ED needs to work on and from what I've read they appear to be investigating.

Well, major progress today thanks to you @slughead 👍

Just the charging issue to sort out now, and yeah I gotta hope a new link cable will do the trick 🤞 Now I’ve seen what it can do I’d be sad to send it back.

many thanks slughead.

Dont use the Quest link cable. I had many similar issues and process when I got mine as well.....but now, its working perfect, comfort and performance is excellent, DCS NEVER looked so good and I have gone over to using VR full time now....

I’ve popped that in my Amazon basket, just waiting for my refund to come through for the (twice the price) Oculus one. Thanks mate. 👍

Meta fart updated my software last night and all was ok except link cable decide not to play ball so checked on the android device I use for setting up & updated also but still no joy.
After checking setting in the android device app they decided to disable development mode bless them but was showing ok on the pc as enabled.

I received updates before and no problem so thought I would share this.

mm I would be very surprised if the cable is at fault on a quick look your mother board has issues with the USB ports not read all the posts so not sure if you solved that part or not.

I’ve tried various leads in the usb ports to see if they will charge stuff (ie phone) and they will. But the link cable won’t charge the headset at all, whether I’m using it or not.

The new cable arrives today, so we shall see. Im really hoping it does work.

With regard to resolution and foveated rendering, do you guys actually find it makes much of a difference if you are CPU bound?  For most games when you turn up resolution you mostly put load on gpu.  I have 4090, 5800x3d and tried the quad view foveated rendering, but on the default settings i notice the edges of the focus box (I wish it was a focus circle/oval instead!).  I didn't notice too much FPS improvement albeit I aim for 90 fps.

Guys, anyone knows how to use hand tracking in Quest Link?

Hand tracking works every where for me, excelt inside of Quest Link, just to click a DCS World icon to start a game; its so annoying I am unable to use hand tracking there as well.

There is no way unfortunately. Ask them to add it on the meta forum.

Its so really god damn annoying, to use controllers only for 5 seconds while on main screen of Quest Link. Specially because the batteries inside of controllers are worth SH*T, even if not using them at all, batteries are dead in a week or so. Total crap on Meta.

I just look under the visor and use the mouse to launch DCS from a shortcut.

Not sure how you have yours et up, but I never need to use teh controllers with mine now. I switch on Oculus, use hand tracking to turn on Quest link from within the Oculus cliff room, then simply launch DCS etc from my desktop, using the mouse as normal......
