As the pilot utilizing the George interface, I cannot get him to fire any weapons. He will laze, and say he is engaging a target and he will say that he is firing, but he never does. The target box never appears, either. I have carefully followed instructions from the manual and from Charly Owl's latest guide without luck.  I have approached targets at various altitudes and set up exercises with targets out in the open with no line of sight challenges, but to no avail.  I have tested this feature in the Caucasus and Siria maps.

When I run the training episode and set up the CPG position as instructed and then change back to the pilot seat, the George CPG will easily engage and fire on targets.

Jumped into the Apache for a quick CAS mission on the Flashpoint Levant (EU) server.

Everything was fine until I gave George the order to open fire.
All conditions to fire are met and he acknowledges the order but no missile leaves the rail.
Tried switching ARM on and off and switching missile types. George still didn't want to fire.

Switched to the CPG seat, fumbled my attack run and got show down 😅

Here is the track file. Yes, it's MP but it was a short sortie and very quiet on the server (just one other player)

I watched your track, and the only thing I can think of is that the target was obscured behind a tree?

George "saw" the target, got IAT locked, but then wouldn't pull the trigger without LOS?  Maybe this is new behavior that was modified in the last patch?

I haven't played with George much since the latest patch, but I will keep my eye out for a situation like this.

Edit: I looked back and saw the OP said he had targets in the open in his scenario.  Hmm.

Ok, this problem is remedied when I turn off the weapons safety, change into the CP/G position, and click the square white button on upper left corner of the right hand controller. It is in neutral position to start, and I click it up or down and then back to neutral.  That's it.

After returning to the pilot seat, George will now respond to my weapon commands. He will spot, laze, and fire both types of Hellfire missiles, the gun, and rockets.

anyone had issues with George basically being drunk and claims hes looked on target but the tads is all over the place

What version are you on?

There was a bug with that, but it is resolved now

Hi, please wait for the next update where a few corrections may have solved instances where George refuses to fire.

Also pay attention to tree lines and objects that may temporarily obscure targets. If they do so for too long, George will comment he "lost the target" or similar, otherwise he may just wait a bit. This is to prevent him from spamming he's unable to see the target.

if you have a short track replay example please attach it.

Please note:

1. make sure you have line of sight

2. make sure you are in range and outside minimum range

3. dont mash George commands, be patient.

Hi BIGNEWY-

thanks for all your efforts so far.

Is there a way that George can tell us when he sees things?  The only way I know of to ensure you have LOS for him to engage a target (that isn't locked up yet) is to be at such a height, that SAMS and MANPADS/AAA make mincemeat of you.  (Still don't have a proper RWR system).  George currently only mentions (sometimes) that he can no longer see a target that we were in the middle of engaging, not that he has spotted something to begin with.

I think you would get 1000% more 'short tracks' if we had the ability to edit them.

Keep up the good work.

Thanks Tholozor and Floyd1212, I'll try that next time up.

Have a good one.

kilos work fine, it's the limas George won't launch. it seems the little box stays dashed far too long. will get a track

I have to give him the command about 3 times but then he always fires.

goes something like this

he scans

I pick target

He says lasing

I give ok to fire

nothing

I give Command again

he says laser off

I give the command again and 99 out of 100 he says engaging and shoots it dead

It makes no sense but it works for me.

This isn't exactly word for word but that is generally how it goes. I basically don't listen to George and just keep telling him to fire every time he says something. He also doesn't do it that way 100% of the time but it is a major percentage of times it does.

If anyone wants the exact wording and sequence let me know.

He has to lase the target for a few seconds to establish the TARGET DATA for the missile seeker, so don’t even bother telling him to engage until after he says “laser off”.
