Right now, A2A's dog fight doesn't really make sense here, you can waste all your rounds despite a correctly placed target and none of them will hit the target. av8orDave Posted July 25, 2023 Posted July 25, 2023 Has anyone tried A2G guns? I haven't given it a shot (no pun intended), but when I tried some strafing last week, it was pretty much pointless. By the time you walked the tracers on to the target, you'd be out of ammo. The sight was basically useless. Not being critical, I know it is early access, just curious if anyone has seen an improvement since the update. 1

Personnal opinion, but it's just a non sense that the gun is unusable even in early access. The F-16 was better than that when available. I was too concentrated on tue target (which I hit) but this new update put (i think) a ranging line on thr right side of hud as well now which wasn't there before
KlarSnow Posted July 28, 2023 Posted July 28, 2023 There is no ranging line on the right side of the HUD for the gunsight. There is a Radar Altimeter line that pops up if you get below 1500 feet AGL. Ranging should be a wrap around the gun reticle just like in Air to Air. And it should work with either laser ranging with the TPOD latched to the reticle, or Air to ground radar ranging which is not implemented.

Tenkom Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 The F16, F18 and F15C all have the kind of "Put the thing on the thing and fire" sort of of gunsight unlike what's in the Mirage and JF-17 which is much more complicated(useless to me). How will the F15E eventually be? From the looks of the current implementation it is more like the latter with the line protruding from the gun cross and the range indicator dancing around indicating the only place you will be guaranteed to miss if you pull the trigger. I'm hoping once they've updated it properly it will be like in the F15C(why would it be worse unless what we have in the game is very unrealistic?) 1

Caldera Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 As a work around I have learned to shoot only at low G's and to just aim high, letting the tracers arc in. I am used to the A-10, and it does not use tracers, so the TOF for the bullets seems really long to me. But, I am adapting. Caldera

I have better accuracy in the dogfight on P-51D with K-14 gyro sight.
