Hobo 1-1 Posted June 27, 2023 Posted June 27, 2023 Embarrassed to ask, how does one re-center the view in-game? For whatever reason, my default orientation once in the cockpit is 45 degrees off-center. The old Rift I replaced had a controller-driven menu option that quickly recentered the view in two clicks. I'm sure it's 100% operator failure, but if anyone could throw me a bone, I'd appreciate it.
Ala12Rv-Tundra Posted June 27, 2023 Posted June 27, 2023 you have to map or bind that function, among other, into your Controls sections, UI layer submenu. VR zoom and VR super zoom are also very handy. I have the three of them mapped to switches of my TM Warthog throttle. 2 i5 8400 | 32 Gb RAM | RTX 2080Ti | Virpil Mongoose T-50 base w/ Warthog & Hornet sticks | Warthog throttle | Cougar throttle USB | Orion 2 throttle base w/ Viper & Hornet grips| VKB T-Rudder Mk IV | Oculus Rift S | Buddy-Fox A-10 UFC | 2x TM MFDs & 1x WW DDI | 2x Bass shakers | SIMple SIMpit chair | WW TakeOff panel | Andre JetSeat | WW Hornet UFC | WW Viper ICP FC3 - Warthog - F-5E - Harrier - NTTR - Hornet - Tomcat - Huey - Viper - C-101 - PG - Hip - SuperCarrier - Syria - Warthog II - Hind - South Atlantic - Sinai - Strike Eagle - Phantom - Mirage F1 - Afghanistan - Irak
tangobravo Posted June 27, 2023 Posted June 27, 2023 Number pad key 5, if using voice attack you can set it up to centre your view with a voice command, I've set up so that I simply say 'centre view' in VR and it centres right away. 3

Not sure why anyone with a VR headset on would want to have to search for and press a numpad key. But to each their own. Much easier to assign to a button on HOTAS, and while at it go ahead and assign the two layers of VR Zoom ( In UI Layer) in there as well. slughead Posted June 30, 2023 Posted June 30, 2023 Instead of hitting keypad 5 or mapping it to a button on a HOTAS, I use a USB footswitch commonly available from Amazon. Actually, I use a triple USB footswitch. One for re-centre, another to enable/disable night vision on the open kneeboard and a third to show/hide the kneeboards. 1 Slugmouse: a finger-mounted mouse button emulator for hand-tracked VR cockpit clicking. Hobo 1-1 Posted September 17, 2023 Author Posted September 17, 2023 Actually, yes I have. It’s happened several times with nothing consistent between each occurrence. The only thing that solves the issue is to exit and run the game again. 1

plott1964 Posted September 21, 2023 Posted September 21, 2023 So this is what I do every time I start a (usually like 3 hour ) VR session: Reboot PC Launch WMR by plugging in Reverb Set the center using WMR Optional - Ensure OpenXR toolkit is up Launch VoiceAttack (I cannot use VR without it!) Launch Focus Guard (https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3330231/) Launch DCS I hardly ever have a centering issue inside DCS after all that. Now, if it crashes I could just launch DCS again, and it is usually centered correctly 9 times out of 10. But, because it crashed, you may want to clear the buffers, and the fxo/metashaders folders and start over. Also, concur with firefox121 regarding lighting. The Reverb (and a lot of other HMDs) rely on external lighting to function correctly. 2 PC specs: Intel Core i7-13700K [Raptor Lake 3.4GHz Sixteen-Core LGA 1700] (stock clock)/64.0 GB RAM/RTX 3080 GPU (stock clock)/Windows 10 Home/Multiple M.2 SSD Drives/T.Flight HOTAS X/HP Reverb G2
