I voted 'yes' for an additional patch to LOFC, I love and admire BS and wait patiently for future releases in that series. I also still see LO as an attractive lure for new pilots, I see regularly pilots joining HL that have just acquired LO without FC but keen to play and wondering why they cannot join servers there, once they realise they have to actually BUY something - maybe they are lost to us. I think (personally)starting the DCS series with the KA50 was a good move, but as already stated in this thread the vast majority of guys wish to fly fast combat jets. Im sure they will come...providing a nice environment for all and interesting online multiplayer.

If something new was released for LOFC I'd prefer to see something more simple than just another aircraft to fly, maybe just a decent tidy up of a few loose ends, all the common things people have moaned about, and preferably for free.

I personally think the black shark would have been a fantastic swan song to close Lock ON. Yes! the engine was upgraded...terrain is new. But imagine the aspect of having the SU-25t, the Su-25 with that new 3d model in BS. We could atleast have some alternate aircraft to fly...giving us a good contrast with fixed wing flyers and helis. Man! It would have been sooo much fun to play around with the SU-25t, Su-25 in that new models/terrain in BS.

I would be willing to pay for an increase in core functionality, for sure. For addon aircraft my preferences would be pretty limited. It would have to change game play... maybe a stealth strike aircraft like B-2 and a campaign or mission arc to accompany. I wouldn't be that interested in another ground attack aircraft or fighter though, for example.

Guys I don't want to be a party pooper but you seam to have forgotten that Lock on And Flaming Cliffs were Ubisoft products. With the introduction of DCS Black Shark a clear cut has been made between DCS and Ubi . For ED to go back spend the man hours for a patch would not make any bussness sence. On the othe hand to alow thrid partys to build new maps for FC may breath some fresh air in to the sim.The base code is still to closly related to the current BS enginge so i would not expect a release of that to third partys for any type of patch. But thats just what i see take it with a pinch of salt

CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.

My vote is for a patch only, basically to get closure, not on the gaming aspect, but on the product. Fix what needs fixing.

Edit: And yes I would pay for a patch...

I could be wrong here but Lock On/Flaming Cliffs were Eagle Dynamic's product and was distributed by Ubisoft..like all other games Ubisoft is the distributor not the developer

I would pay for a patch only as well, but I don't think ED would charge for a patch so therefore, that's why I thought just a small addon bonus. Even if it was just more ground units and ground objects.

Some people still are giving their opinion that they want something huge as an addon. Again, let me point out that I personally don't think they should create a flyable addon that would take many man hours to complete like a F-18 or B-2 etc. Just something that adds value so that they can charge for it along with a patch.

Yes, ED released FC without Ubi, so they could addon on to FC if they choose. To the best of my knowledge anyway.

Yeah I'd probably pay 20 bucks to have a few odd things fixed. It's the only game in town as far as I'm concearned. I much preferred the LO in it's 1.02 form, so if we could get a patch to un**** the items we all know about then that would be great.

Alternatively, can't we just agree on ditching FC and the T Frog and going back to 1.02? That would suit me fine!

It´s an error to wast resources in LOMAC instead in DCS.

This, would make that MIG29 or SU27 in DCS, come more later.

I had another idea. They could release an addon with new AI aircraft (F-22 for example) and new 3d models as well as improve missile behavior and the such. New hires textures would be great too! This, IMO would be a simple addon worthy of a $20 retail price.

Just my 2 cents. (I'm out for good now, in case anyone was tired of my input)

DCS Wishlist: 1) FIX THE DAMN RIVERS!!! 2) Spherical or cylindrical panorama view projection. 3) Enhanced input options (action upon button release, etc). 4) Aircraft flight parameter dump upon exit (stick posn, attitude, rates, accel, control volume, control-surface positions, SAS bias, etc). 5) ADS-33 maneuver courses as static objects. 6) Exposed API or exports of trim position and stick force for custom controllers. 7) Select auto multiple audio devices

Can you imaginae if they outsourced the F-16 to the old Falcon 4.0 SP Team..... Now there was a bunch of guys who really cared about realism. They would do an AWESOME job.

yes, I would like another addon, but as for the plane, I think the US should be given another bird. I'd say the F-16, but it's over rated and I think half the community wouldn't be able to contain themselves (This thread would become "sticky" if you know what I mean) A dumbed down F/A-18 would be better IMO. Balanced carrier ops would be a plus (Su-33 vs F/A-18).

Anyway, ED should "outsource" this addon to 3rd party groups like simmodders or such. This would keep most of the internal ED resources focoused on DCS.

The most important thing is still the missile and radar proformance, which really needs to be improved.

So... YES! Lockon deserves a very large patch, at the very least. I'd pay for an addon!

They didn't do a very good job on missile counter-measure rejection ...

Whether patch or add-on, I would pay for any new product in the Lockon line. It is still my favourite game.

I like the Lockon gameplay, which is different from the study sim DCS series. To give you one example that would be greeted by sheer disbelief in the realism crowd: one of the nicest features of Lockon to me is that you can jump from one cockpit in another (using Alt-J). I often set up complex missions and then jump right into the action at either side of the conflict, to try to influence the outcome.

Such "gaming" is totally out of scope for a simulation like DCS. But honestly, I have a lot of fun with it!

No, IMHO, LockOn was/is great, but too much is broken for an addon to fix - it would be a new game ... if DCS:FastJets gives us more details, working missiles/seekers, better AWACS, working ECM, working counter measures, cheat free on-line play etc etc - Thanks, but I'd rather wait.

Why Cant the community EG flight Simulation Community: Pay for the DCS Models??

We could start an account to tally deposit amounts by everyone who wants to see

something Developed for futer addons!

You may ask why would we want to accumulate money in an account??

Well, to my next question is why couldnt we pay for an additional team of programmers to be hired to work "Contract Style"

With the DCS Prduct??

Dose this not make sence for futer addons updates to take place in a shorter period??

And we as the community could pay for it out of our own pockets but with that in mind

Still in control of the original operaters/owners And the hierarchy of senior programmers having

the control of finial output standards of release.

I guess i mean to say upsizing the programming team would help?

??Anyone interested?? Yes ... No??
