My Logitech bluetooth mouse ran out of battery, so I USB-connect to PC for charging, and run DCS:
Had severe stutter until I disconnected.
This mouse one comes with some bloatware it seems. "Logi bolt" etc..
Unfortunately I have to run it for it to work properly.
Next time, I'll charge it over night.

Logitech is one of the worst offenders, when it comes to bloaty drivers/utilities. Fortunately you can run the mices with the generic windows drivers ans dump the Logi-crap (at least it works here). Only downside is, that you can't control (or turn off) the RGP-stuff. So my mouse is puking rainbows, but at least I have no annoying software overhead.

I've mapped the thumb button to "5" and use it frequently to reset view i VR. And a tiny button to toggle labels.
-Need bloatware for that. (I guess?) Default is some alt-tab-ish function.

Seems kind of a backwards approach to me. At least the first one. You can map the UI-function "view reset" to whatever you seem fit inside of DCS. Be it a key, joystick- or mouse-button. As long as the button is registered in DCS. So instead of mapping "5" to your mouse-button. Map your mouse button to "view reset" inside of DCS.

Just an idea. You can do as you like of course. Personally I would go a great length to get rid of any third-party background software running.

Yes. I just wrote "5" for "reasons".
I actually mapped it the way you explain. Killing the bloatware overrides this, and it alt-tabs in stead.

I am running two logitech mice and not had any issue.

one on my left is a multi button, and a normal mouse on my right, both are wired ones, I dont like using wireless.

Admittedly. Getting rid of the iCue, Logitech, Razor etc. software is more like a general housekeeping (or even OCD) thing. I can't really say, that they caused any actual problems. I just get itchy when I see more than 4 or 5 symbols in the task bar.

I guess they were connected both via BT and the USB-cable, causing some havoc..

i too have two logi mice. both are wired. also no problems. my experience is wireless mice give you all the same issues as a wired and adds two more. interference and power. what other vendors out there that have good mice and do not have bloatware? my logi is just ghub. i have a keyboard too.

I use a wireless logitech mouse with the generic windows drivers. No Ghub and no issues apart from an empty battery (in which case it transforms into a wired mouse without issues) and no control over the rainbow colors. It doesn’t have a ton of special function buttons though.

hello hiob,

do the windows drivers give you all the button choices? that would be a game changer. i do like having ghub for my gaming keyboard. lots of special buttons. one is single press to E+E+E 😉

Hey,

no, as far as I'm aware I have only generic mouse button function. On my mouse I have the two main ones, a depressable mouse wheel and two side buttons (and a button to switch the dpi of the mouse). Except for the dpi-switch, all can be bound inside DCS to several commands of course. I use the side buttons for radio.

Edit: typos

FYI:
I have since found another culprit: An external USB  disk "WD book" does weird stuff to all USB devices; Thrustmaster throttle blinking, mouse having intermittent contact etc..
Turns out this USB drive was causing problems when connected, due to its onboard outdated/discontinued software.

Thanks for our feedback. 👍

Is your problem entirely solved now?

Yes.
I only connect that drive when I need to use it, and not DCS'ing.  🙂

Just as a sidenote. USB-related issues (other devices on the same controller, hubs, firmware etc.) are still my main suspect, when it comes to TrackIR-problems.
