This is brilliant - take as much time as you guys need. On another note, I know this request falls squarely outside of the time period you're focusing on (Vietnam War,) but please consider adding the Iowa-class battleships in their configurations as-built for WW2, the Korean War, as well as the 1980s Harpoon/Tomahawk/Phalanx refits. If not, here is a bit of hope from me (and hopefully others) that someone else in the DCS modding space can make this a reality.

Hi, not sure who made them, but there is an Iowa class battleship available somewhere that was developed a long time ago. It includes the Iowa "Late War" and Korea versions, plus the Missouri, the Wisconsin and the New Jersey. One of them has two Kingfisher aircraft on catapluts at the bow with spinning propellers in the wind ! Excellent Mods, but I don't know if they still work on the current DCS version. Below are 2 screenshots of the WIP New Jersey, firing at multiple air and surface targets. Nice job, although it's currently missing a damage model. Enjoy. Edited January 25 by toan 6

TeTeT Posted March 11 Author Posted March 11 Maintenance update Vietnam War Vessels 0.9.1 James J. Jackson has been focusing on the destroyers, leading to some updates in their visuals and effects, including navigation lights, new wake definitions, and updated main fire control units. Additionally, two aircraft have received improvements: the RA-5C Vigilante now features a black front cockpit plate, and the A-1 Skyraider has been equipped with Mk-81 bombs in its pylon layout. Also the Skyraider unit payload was fixed. Due to size the download is split into two parts. The base, which contains the assets themselves, and the liveries, with additional skins for the assets. Download from https://github.com/tspindler-cms/tetet-vwv/releases Enjoy! TeTeT 3 3
Beldin Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Hey TeTeT, Hope you are well and congrats on all the MOD progress. At some point I'll get back on discord and see what I can contribute. I still need to see how you guys sorted out the carrier stuff for the A-1. 1

Hi Beldin, you're always welcome and looking forward to your future contributions Real life has been busy the past two and a half months - and will continue to be so, as we have a baby coming next week (if he stays on schedule ). Not sure where that will leave my modding hobby, but meantime James J Jackson and seabat and github contributor Druss99 continue to push forward! Cheers, TeTeT 3

sinzov Posted March 15 Posted March 15 I want to thank the team for their hard work and the joy they provide with this mod. may i hint to some minor glitches on the redfor aircraft ? Mig-17: size of main gear, air brake and size of pilot (?) MiG-21: when retracted the main gear on the right shows on the fuselage and a splinter emerges on the surface of the right wing; the wheel is not fixed properly to the strut; MiG-21: it has a nose-up attitude on the ground, culprit is the missing compression of the front gear BUT: as i said before - these are minor things and i am wholeheartedly thankful for the work done. 4

Right now not - I had some plans to add the lights for night operations, in sync with an update to CVA-31 for night ops. But this hasn't really been progressed in the past months. I hope the Enterprise is usable as is. I'll check with James what's the status of a 1960ies version of it, but it might be way down the road. 4
DmanGIV Posted March 23 Posted March 23 Thanks for the update. It is useable for basic Case 1 recoveries. I think having a TACAN and maybe ICLS on the boat will be amazing (If we can get that first). Thank you again for the update

TeTeT Posted Monday at 12:11 PM Author Posted Monday at 12:11 PM Meantime we've assembled everything for release 1.0.0. To set expectations - we picked the 1.0.0 version for simply one reason: There's a breaking change in the GT.Name of USS Bon Homme Richard - hence old missions won't work with the 1.0.0 CVA-31 carrier (or generic Essex). Here some preview pics, a static HH-2 with folded rotors (in the cargos section), an improved island and cat of CVA-31, a battleship BB-62 New Jersey and two new DDs, USS Bigelow and USS Forrest Sherman. If no major problems are found, Vietnam War Vessels 1.0.0 will go live later this week. Cheers, TeTeT 6 3
TeTeT Posted Tuesday at 05:42 AM Author Posted Tuesday at 05:42 AM (edited) Vietnam War Vessels Update 1.0.0: New Ships & Key Improvements We've designated this release as 1.0.0 due to a breaking change in the CVA-31/Generic Essex class Lua structure. The GT.Name attribute was renamed to accommodate AA gun sounds, meaning missions using older versions (0.x.y) won't be compatible out of the box. However, AA guns are now functional, and both the catapult and island have been overhauled. New Additions - BB-62 New Jersey joins the fleet as a new capital ship. - USS Bigelow & USS Forrest Sherman arrive as new destroyers. - Several existing destroyers (Sumner, Laffey, Maddox, The Sullivans) now feature an improved bow wake for greater realism. Fixes & Enhancements - MiG-21MF landing gear now fully retracts, and the nose gear suspension has been partially animated. - HH-2 Seasprite & MiG-17F "Fresco-C" liveries were reorganized to optimize disk space. - Static HH-2 Seasprite with folded rotors is available in Cargos. - RA-5C distance LODs are now properly utilized. - A-1 Skyraider landing speed increased for more realistic approach patterns. This update brings significant refinements while introducing exciting new content—enjoy!
