I'm guessing this mod disables the default cloudless/empty/blue skybox? As in, when the option "NOTHING" was selected you'd get a completely empty skybox that would only briefly generate some high-altitude clouds that'd fade in and out throughout the mission. With this mod enabled the skybox is almost always filled with some high-altitude clouds.

Nope, Bandits mod adds more - much much more. You will not be disappointed. :thumbup:

The default cirrus fade in and out every 3 minutes. I'm no expert but I found this to be unrealistc. In the mod I increased the time they fade in/out to over 24 hours so they would stay throughout a typical mission. I may change this again in a future update.

Would it be possible to add a preset for no clouds/cirus, just an empty blue sky?  In the middle-east, there are several days over the year without any clouds.  Just a suggestion...

The cirrus clouds are generated by a shader and are not controllable from the mission editor settings unfortunately. One workaround for this would be:

1.)  Disable the mod in your mod manager

2.) Make a copy of the mod folder and rename it "bandit648 Weather Mod  v15 - no cirrus".

3.) Edit the file \bandit648 weather mod v15 - no cirrus\Bazar\shaders\enlight\cirrus.fx

        change line 32 to this: static const float cirrusThickness = 0;

When you want to fly the middle-east region with no cirrus, just enable the "no cirrus" version of the mod in your mod manager. The "Default" preset will have a completely clear sky.

Ran into a odd funny  - been practicing ILS on South Atlantic, so i've been trying to figure out and make super foggy maps

-I've been able to get serious fog- but...it feels like the Mod isn't ...able to change things- or in other words, once i set it to foggy- i then cannot set it clear, or make it so a layer of fog is at , say  2000ft altitude to 25000 ft, then maybe ground level to 30000 ft , then a clear sky and no fog

I say this because i'm trying to tweak a mission in the editor and attempting that last change mentioned above ^ - to get rid of fog 100%, and no matter what i do, i can't. I've turned fog off, loaded a winter clear sky preset,  , clouds and atmosphere preset is now set to nothing, base set to zero, thickness set to zero, precptns set to zero , dust storm is NOT enabled
Been doing this in July- just switched the month to February, no difference.

No other core mods are enabled-

Tried  -1 celsius, 5 celsius, 17 degrees celsius,
Changed nothing at all - Every time i spawn on the carrier i see fog
What am i doing wrong?

This is using the bandit mod v15

You can't have layers of fog. The fog settings are Visibility (how far you can see) and Thickness (how high the fog extends from sea level). To have the fog change from thick to clear during a mission, you need to set the fog to manual and then set the fog keys as desired. Setting the fog to 0 visibility and 0 thickness will clear it out completely. I tested with the setting seen below and it works fine.

That is good to know for when i want changing fog!

What surprises me though- is when i restart the mission with the settings in my screenshot, with no fog intended at all for that run- fog still appears. I was curious what to do in that case?

Or, do i have to have fog on and then everything set to zero , in order to do any missions without fog?

Is it possible to remove the rain (only) in a preset that has it?

You would have to edit the clouds.lua file. Find "precipitationPower" for the preset you want to change. Change it to this for no precip:

precipitationPower = -1.00

I just tested this. I set fog to manual with low visibility settings and then run the mission. I see thick fog as expected. Then I set the fog to off and re-run the mission and the fog is gone as expected. I'm not sure what you're trying to do or what the problem is?

None of the files in the mod were modified in the latest DCS update. V15 should work fine.

All the mod presets have a yellow box around them plus [Bandit686] at the end of the preset name, except the last two additions that you mention but they are still part of the mod.  The vanilla preset all have [ED] at the end of the preset name.

Thanks for pointing that out. I'll fix it in the next update.
