Vic Posted April 5 Posted April 5 (edited) So, you can't create your own beacon only the ones in the maps that you created will work? Also, why when I turn ADF to off why does my compass needle still at 90-degree position (like in the picture)? This is like the last thing I need to iron out. Mod is epic!!! Too bad dcs won't let you work out the radios cuz this would be the perfect module Edited April 5 by Vic typo
toubey Posted April 5 Posted April 5 vor 34 Minuten schrieb tobi: The OH-6A is equipped with a ADF System. The device is at the mainpanel close to the fuel indicator. Switch the power knob (Off/ADF/ANT/LOOP) to ADF. Tune in the AM frequency (Display is in kHz). There are 3 bands (0.19-0.40, 0.40-0.84, 0.84-1.7 MHz), The indicator above the Tune Knob show the signal level. Since this is done without SDK one will not hear signals. Only beacons which are placed in ME are available. What happend? Just some wishfull thinking that you guys would go official. Absolutly loving this little bird. Cheers from switzerland. 2

Vic Posted April 5 Posted April 5 Quote The radios work!? Not sure what this means, not for me anyway LOL But I saw other people post that ADF does work Oh well, thanks for your help cheers!!
Slippa Posted April 6 Posted April 6 The radios work Vic. They just can’t be improved upon without Tobi & Eightball having use of the tools to do so. Maybe someday they’ll be able to go 3rd party if they want to? 1
Vic Posted April 6 Posted April 6 Oh, ok I understand To the guys in this thread that said they got the ADF working, do I have this set up right? When I set it up and turn on ADF compass needle just jumps 90 degrees and I get no reading on the transmission strength meter, and when I turn the ADF off needle stays pointing 90 degrees like in picture Thanks for your help

I just usually take a ground unit, assign a frequency in the KHz range to it in the advanced unit options and put a morse code audio file on it that you can generate on several websites, and the NDB is ready. I've never tried it with the OH-6 though, but for the UH-1 or the Mi-8 that works pretty well. 1 1./JG71 "Richthofen" - Seven Eleven

UH-1 and MI-8 are official modules OH-& is a mod without SDK 3
Volator Posted April 6 Posted April 6 Well, as I said, I don't use triggers, I use ground units to create an NDB. But that doesn't work either with the OH-6, I just checked it. 1 1./JG71 "Richthofen" - Seven Eleven

Vic Posted April 7 Posted April 7 Ok I get it; I will stop trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong and face the fact that you can't set up ADF yourself in places you want. Because of no SDK. Unless the developers of this awesome mod apply for 3rd party status which I imagine would cost mega dollars. And why should they, they are kind enough to offer this epic mod for free and made it because of their passion to create this cool "little bird" and not to make money, which they would if it was an official module, which since I installed it is all I want to fly, and I got quite a few "official modules" All I can say is thanks for all your hard work, guys!! 3 1

Vic Posted April 8 Posted April 8 More texture fun. Fictious Loach of the Aero Scouts "Low Life II" You know tobi, you could have the perfect mod and there will still be people whining and complaining. Thats just human nature lol. One of the things I love about this mod is how you have to use the pedals, cyclitic, and collective all at the same time in the right "sweet spot" to take off and land. People being rude and complaining, and the mod is free! OMG then don't use it delete it problem solved. I like it!! 6
slghtlystewpid Posted April 9 Posted April 9 Anyone know if it's possible to get FFB telemetry data in this mod? This is an incredible Heli and my favorite to fly, but would be very cool to have FFB from skids, weapons release, etc. in addition to the existing available. 1

Skid feedback at takeoff and landing, weapons release feedback when firing guns or rockets etc. Apologies in advance if my descriptions are tough to follow, and maybe I have the mod installed incorrectly. I do have FFB currently to a degree, specifically when hovering and then entering ETL. Flaring when coming to a stop/hover also has feedback. Just no skid or weapons feedback. Absolutely incredible mod. You deserve to be paid for this. 1

Am I doing something wrong with the mod/installing it incorrectly? Or is the loach not supposed to have similar FFB reactions as the huey/other official modules? ie. skid feedback and weapons release feedback etc. If so, no complaints. Just want to make sure I'm using it the way it's intended to be used! And again, incredible mod. You guys have truly created something special. 1

Main focus of the actual ffb implementation is the trim system. I can have a look to add other effects. But that will take some time. 7

If you were able to add other FFB effects at some point, it would truly take the mod to another level. Especially as FFB sticks make a comeback and are becoming more popular/available to folks at a better entry price point. The biggest shock factor I had when I flew an actual helicopter for the first time, was the feedback from the bird. Very much something you "feel" throughout the body and stick to know how the bird is reacting. But like I said, the loach is by far my favorite bird to fly in DCS, and appreciate how raw and mechanical it is. Every input requires precise control of the other inputs. Love it! 6
