can you please add skid friction? it feels like sliding around on ice even on hard concrete apron.

Not sure I want that. If you land on ground you are sucked to the ground on skids enough as it is

I can't make sense of the new trim release feature?  I have all the trim buttons mapped.  Trim reset  and the 4 directional trims all fine and obvious.  Trim release I expected to work like the Apache where you either hold it, get stable and release or fly get stable press it and then re-center your flightstick to regain control.

When i press it in either case it immediately trims to that position but it multiplies my control and the aircraft goes out of control.  There is no ability to re-center joystick and keep flying.

What am I missing?  I have center spring Virpil and I did set the special settings to central position mode.

Right now it seems to be working as the Instant Trim option on ED's helicopters, and indeed you can't hold it down and then release to set. You'll want to hold the helicopter stable, press the button and IMMEDIATELY jump to the center.

Has anyone tried the new setting option under "special" for cyclic. collective and anti-torque button sensitivity? There are three sliders ranging from 0.05 to 5 for each of the button sensitivities. I briefly tried setting them to the extremes and then tried the settings in game ( using HOTAS and pedals) and didn't notice any significant differences in the handling of the OH-6A. Are these for use if using a keyboard control of the helicopter ( I cannot imagine trying to fly this mod using only a keyboard. It's challenging enough with a Hotas and pedals! ) ?

Thank you for the 1.2 update and especially for adding the cyclic trimmer. 👌

Again could I ask you please consider adding an option to trim the peddles as well for those of us who are twist stick users 🙏

Not that I'm volunteering. About to try the update 🙂.

You should be an expert by now!! 🙂

Agree its an Instant Trim but there is no delay or opportunity to jump the stick back to center before it multiplies your input and sends you sideways. It also adds more input than the trim position when you press it by almost double.  You can see it very clearly if you just trim on the ground. Watch the controls indicator  jump well past the trim spot in this video when i hit trim. You can see how much it adds too when i try to trim in hover.  It needs a slight delay to allow you to re-center the cyclic or it should behave like the center position trim on other helos and disable input until you re-center.

Looking for some feedback from the Tobi/Eightball and the community.  I have noticed the RPM on startup since the last patch does not want to climb to 60% before needing to increase the throttle to 100%.  Was this intentional or a bug in the 1.2 patch?  I also noticed when selecting the grease pencil reticle for the canopy in the special options, it is not showing up on the canopy for me.  This could be user error if there is a special key bind for it, but I have tried rearming with rockets and minigun with no luck on the reticle.

This question is more for the devs.  When you improved the flight model to make it easier for the community to fly, did you have to deviate from a more realistic flight model of the OH-6 to do this?  I am not complaining, but I was curious if V1 was more aligned with the authenticity of the flight characteristics vs making it easier to fly in V1.2?  I am not using the new trim just because I am authentic until the DVD commentaries come out.  Still absolutely love this mod, just hoping realism was not sacrificed too much to appease and easier flight model.  I created a short video below to demonstrate the issue I am having on startup and did a real quick flight.  Curious to see the feedback on the startup to see if this is intentional.

I'm not saying it doesn't behave like you describe. While with instant trim you have to be really quick with centering your stick. I believe I read somewhere you've got half a second or so. Ka-50 was my first heli module, and I would keep, (still do in every heli module, even with FFB), the trim button depressed whenever I would move the stick. Could never figure out the central position mode, and it has its own entry, because it behaves very different from instant.
Like I wrote above, several modules/mods have initial issues with trim, and I'm sure the devs will work it out. It's raining today, so I'm hopeful I get to try the new version later today. And I'll return with my 2 cents.
Cheers!

Agree but current state on this version you don't have anywhere close to that much time.  Its instant.  It is better if you are cruising at speed 80-100 knots.   But hovering or anything slow no mercy. No ability to hold trim button depressed while you move either yet. I did chat with developer in the discord.  Hopefully will adjust it next version.

Yepp it is instant. Will be improved in the next update.

It should take 1–2 seconds for the trimmer to move to the clicked trim position. This way a human can click and react to the trim change, and gradually reach a centered stick. This is how it works in a fixed wing aircraft - you trim the elevator and with every small adjustment you respond with a small stick movement to keep the nose steady.

I find  the 4 directional trimmers in the OH-6 work best for me because they react like in fixed wing planes.

Should being the operative word 😁.

I haven’t had chance to try it yet. Got as far as downloading it but had to get on with the boring stuff of life.

Trimmer sounds interesting. Not sure if I’ll feel like I’m cheating it a bit as the real thing doesn’t have one. Good idea as an optional aid though. Should be a giggle later, I love this little thing.

It seems like you are watching wrong gage. Look at the gage No.1 it is showing exactly 60%.

Well I just made an ass out of myself on national television.  I owe my wingman an apology for telling him he was wrong.  I was the one who was wrong.  Much appreciated for the assist on pointing that out! I have no idea why I was looking at the wrong gauge. Sorry Zipper!

Kept schtum though, no videos posted on the internet 😆

I did this for everyone just so they felt better.  LOL.  I did however take the video down so it did not confuse anyone.  I did not want to mislead anyone since there was in fact no issue with the exception of the retard flying the helicopter.

that's exactly how it feels IRL when you do a run on landing, we don't lower collective fully to keep from tilting over the nose.

how it's right now, it's not realistic at all. when flying a helicopter on skids, you get taught time and time again how dangerous a dynamic roll over can be if you don't mind your cyclic lateral position while resting on the skids as you start pulling power.

please give it a go and tell me if you can side flip the OH as it is parametrized right now, before it just starts to slide sideways like a puck in the ring.

You might be right. I was referring to Gazelle mostly. I just done quick testing on the oh 6. But then the oh 57 came and I spent my time there.

@tobi Question about the VAP assets. The Sea Float Barge is under ships and I have no problem landing on it or placing statics on it and linking them.  I can't however place a helo on them for a hot/cold start. Get the message below?  Can this be fixed?

Please try to place the heli in a parking slot

So we need more friction?

I tried on all 4 parking pads and got the same message.  Edit:  If i choose "take off from parking" it throws the helo way over on another ship I have in the mission.

Works good for me. Could you try to drag it to the barge again?
