ED is working on validation of current FC3 MiG-29 characteristics with new FF version, because FC3 version has changed: pitch damping has increased at low speeds and also unnatural coupling of roll rate with yaw rate has been adjusted (no strange yaw-roll coupled manouvers possible)

With no official ED news in changelog, I feel it very clear. Big hope for FF version in that matter.

Huh where you here this? My big question is will they fix the low G of the 29 from 870-1000 kmh. It can only pull like 7.5 G at best here. Real MiG-29 should be able to sustain 20 deg/s turn rate but right now only does 18.1 deg/s.

Out of curiosity, what fuel and missile load?

The 18.1 deg/s tested in DCS is for 14,862 kg. 

As for 20 degree/s, I don’t know. It is never stated. I have found multiple charts in manuals showing 20 deg/s but they never say the weight or configuration. But I imagine it’s likely 550 kg-50% fuel and 2x R-27 + 2x R-73. 

This one is from a “study guide” for pilots that goes through details of the structure.

Here is it in a book but seems slightly different, shows it exceeding 20 deg/s. But of course I’m going to trust the obscure Soviet military training document over the book published in the 90s in America…..however it describes the chart as “turn rate with missiles” which definitely suggests it to be atleast 2x R-27 + 2x R-73 configuration. 
 

You know now that I look at the one from the manual more closely, the top three squares of the graph look more rectangularish while the bottom two rows are definitely square. Perhaps 90s book is right and it’s over 20 deg/s?

Ahhh, ok. I asked because, not long ago I was turning circles in the sky with the -A. Started with full fuel and 2 AAMs. Initially I was sustaining 8.1 Gs. By the time I was low on fuel, I was holding 9.7–9.8 Gs on the merry-go-round. I was at around 1500 m altitude.

Unfortunately, I can’t find my key for the payware version of TacView. So I can’t chart the turn rate during all of this.

Just count seconds for every 360

What was your speed? I did between 900-1000 kmh it seems be oddly limited to 7.5-8 G

Around 970–980 TAS, IIRC. So lowish 900s IAS?

Hmm, I wonder if it’s more of sub-1500m problem

The dampeners do have filters that correct for altitude, Mach, IAS, AOA. Since it only reacts to movement, if it was too strong it could reduce max G. 
 

Unfortunately most dogfight and gun servers are at such low altitudes

@AeriaGloria Just flew some circles again. Not the best but good enough. TRK file is attached. Boring to watch except for the numbers. I love how this aircraft will accelerate away from you, if you get distracted, and trash the Gs.
