Hello, I've had the Razbam F-15E since pre-order and enjoy it very much, but since this last update I'm unable to fly it.  I get a pop-up error message "Authorization failed" (see attached pic) and after that any mission, mp server, instant mission, etc all I get is a map when I select the F-15E for the mission.  I've tried repairing my install, uninstalling/reinstalling the module, removing mods, etc but no luck, anyone have a fix for this?  Pre-update everything worked fine.

Typically that means that your DCS is having problems contacting the ED servers.  Can you use any other aircraft?  The other issue some people are having with the last update is their anti-virus (mainly McAffee this time) flagging parts of DCS with a false positive.

I have no fix for your issue, all I can say is that on my just updated DCS my F-15E works with no issues:

Lucky you Rudel!  However, I do not shut off my anti-virus for whatever app, it worked before this update but now doesn't.  I'm not going to allow a backdoor entry for folks wishing to infect others with any malware, ED this has to be fixed!

What anti-virus are you using?  The vast majority of them have no problem with DCS currently.  A limited few (this time McAfee, typically it and Kapersky, Eset, Avira) regularly throw FALSE positives.  It's not up to ED to make sure they aren't throwing FALSE POSITIVES.  If it is your anti-virus that's causing the problem, you'll have to send the "offending" file to them to check and have whitelist it.

The only reports of people having this issue are those using McAfee.  It's not ED's problem if McAfee is throwing a false positive or otherwise messing with it.  You need tell McAfee so they can get it white listed or move to a different AV.  There is no company out there that is going to change their programming strictly to avoid throwing a false positive with a limited number of AV programs, especially when it's the same AV programs that are consistently throwing false positives.

I had to create an exception within McAfee to block the scanning of two files and it works now.  However, this is how backdoor malware is created and it makes me quite nervous to do this.

I do not shut down my AV either, but I do tell it to not mess with the files that are within the DCS folder.

As you wish, but one question: How do you know for sure that the file DCS was updating is indeed a malware? ... do you trust McAfee more than you trust ED ?

Not an ED problem, its the antivirus the one wrongly flagging a file as malware.

As I said before, submit those files to McAfee so they can white list them, then you can remove the exception.  Ball is in McAfee's court, not ED's.

Glad you got it working at least.

In my case AVG quarantined a file called "ARF.dll" from the F-15E. I still had the F15E module but could not enter the pit to fly it.
So I made scan exceptions in AVG settings for C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta and C:\Users\User\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta.
Did a repair to replace ARF.dll since this file could not be restored from quarantine.
Working now (except the radar which is another issue).

I just logged on and got an "unauthorized" message for F-4E!!!  It is now completely removed from DCS and I have no way to reinstall.  And I have Norton360 Anti-virus software.  What can be done to fix this?  I fly that bird alot!!!

If it is AV related, the common remedy is to...

1. Check the AV settings for any notification of a recently quarantined file that belonged to DCS. Un-quarantine the file (or files) if possible and set the AV to exclude those files in future, ie. tell the AV those files are safe.
2. Look for the exclusions/exceptions setting in the AV and exclude C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta so that the AV will not scan/check this folder in future.
3. Do a quick DCS repair. Start DCS and see if your F4E is back to normal.

I don't think your F4E has been uninstalled. More like disabled because of a missing (quarantined) DCS file.

(The above was my experience with the F15E module.)

Hey, thanks for the information.  I looked in the ED folder DCSopenbeta folder for the F-4E stuff and it wasn't there. Like it vanished.  That was a pretty old install so I deleted it and will start anew.  If it crops up again, I will exclude the problem file in my AV.

Exclude the whole DCS root folder from your AV.

I excluded the entire DCS World folder and the issues stopped.  Thanks for the heads up.  However, I'm a little concerned about that folder not being scanned for viruses.

You could always submit the problem file(s) to Norton so they can confirm they are a false positive

submitting the files is the right thing to do if you are concerned. if no one ever submitted flagged files, the files would never get checked.
