Dieselmadness Posted April 21, 2024 Posted April 21, 2024 Once I set up my carrier group and all the statics, equipment and personnel, is there a way to save this layout and be able to paste it into another map? In other words sailing from the Sinai map up to the Syria map, I’d like to be able to copy/paste my carrier setup from Sinai onto the Syrian map.
buceador Posted April 21, 2024 Posted April 21, 2024 You can save the mission as a template to re-use again but ONLY on the same map, ME (sadly) does not support the function you require. 1

In some file, (mission.lua?), you can then change the terrain. I have no idea what will happen if the position of the carrier happens to be on land in the second terrain. @Rudel_chw probably has some insights.Cheers! Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk 1

buceador Posted April 21, 2024 Posted April 21, 2024 Ok, so I tried it - the original .miz was in the Persian Gulf. You don't need to rename the .miz file to .zip as 7-zip will open the .miz file. You need to edit the mission and theatre files that are inside the .miz file by using the copy to command in 7-Zip, you need to change the name in theatre to your new chosen map and you need to change the map reference in the mission file as well. Then delete the existing mission and theatre files from within 7-Zip and drag and drop you edited files back into the opened 7-Zip file. The results are attached. As @MAXsenna mentioned, success will depend on the coordinates of the original file and tha might be trial and error! New supercarrier demo PG.miz New supercarrier demo - Syria.miz 2

maverick90 Posted April 29, 2024 Posted April 29, 2024 Thanks, I was able to copy the supercarrier over from Caucas map to Marianas, however the ship is located off the map and even if i zoom out all the way. I still can't access or see it at all. Is there a way I can see it so that I can move it?

It takes a little bit of understanding the text editor and following some steps, but once set up for the first time, then its absolutely amazing.
