In the meantime, Users are building alternatives, thank God I'm not an MP fan 🙂

You are missing out 😉

But luckily this works if servers don't enforce integrity check. That's nothing for the common public servers of course (because of course people will cheat as hell without IC), but for some squadrons, this may be a good interim solution.

The root problem still remains. STILL, we do not have RSBN/ARK on Kola and Sinai, or Afghanistan, Iraq, and now Germany, WITHOUT BREAKING INTEGRITY CHECK BECAUSE WE HAD TO MAKE THE DAMNED THINGS OURSELVES! So is the MiG-21 just an abandoned module at this point is that what it is? Seems like all that gets done anymore is half baked products that never get finished, not just in DCS but in just about any other game these days.

@-Rudel- can you guys add the map names into the R_NAV_data.lua file? Thats all we need to use RSBN and ARC navigation for Mig-21, which really needs something like that for navigate around vast terrains.

So the Maps_Table of it would look like:

Maps_Table = {
	"Caucasus",
	"Nevada",
	"Normandy",
	"PersianGulf",
	"TheChannel",
	"Syria",
	"Kola",
        "Falklands",
        "Afghanistan",
        "Iraq",
        "GermanyColdWar"
}

Can you also add new *.lua files for actual RSBN and ARK content, so the map structure would look like:

Thx a lot, I really appreciate it.

Actually it depends on user preference, as SP has a lot to offer, for example: I can fly in whatever Map I want, with whatever aircraft I want (even User Mod aircraft), at whatever local date and time I'm free to escape real life.

And I can make my own missions, employing whatever User assets strike my fancy. For me, the only real disadvantage is that the AI opponent is not as skilled as a real human ... but it is still good enough to satisfy my main interest: study and understand my current aircraft of choice.

However I understand that other users feel more attracted to the competitive side of DCS, and that's OK.

Some of the planes, but all of the maps!

Something I'm curious about with the FF MiG-29 seeming to be around the corner finally, how is ED setting up the RSBN beacons? Are they doing the same thing with R_NAV_data.lua files? Or is it going to be something that'll be built-in to the maps and an additional option to put a beacon like we can with the TACAN beacons in the mission editor? And if that's the case will the MiG-21 be able to utilize them? This would just compound the BS that the MiG-21 is just an abandoned module when the MiG-29 can utilize RSBN on all the maps and the MiG-21 can't because it's an abandoned module and won't be getting updated to fill those gaps.

The L-39 by ED can utilize the built-in RSBN stations on the maps, so I guess in the MiG-29 it's gonna be the same. AFAIK, the 21's solution is an artifact from LOMAC times.
